Listen NiNz... if this thread ever gives me the one hour warning I've been tuning in for, that one hour will make a whole world of difference.

Like you said a few pages back, an hour can mean life or death. I figure many of us are here not hoping for grand revelations, but rather to educate ourselves to the realities of our times and to adapt as best we can. We tune in every day because if SHTF and only 2% of us are gonna be left to represent the species Homo Sapiens, we want a fighting chance dammit, and if we die in the first ten minutes from sheer ignorance, it'll only haunt our souls forever. And if I ever run into you after things have settled down a bit, I'll loot grocery stores until I can make you a chocolate truffle amaretto cheesecake.

If you are in any way allergic to the above, please tell me now, so that I can adjust my plan accordingly before that X flare (potentially) kills GLP. That goes for the rest of you too... I'd like to think if anyone survives the kind of things we talk about on GLP, it'll be those who are concerned, prepared, independent and intelligent. and well, i guess the main reason most of us are here posting the info we have is so that we CAN give any and all warning of anything we may or may not see
not about doom and gloom at all
we have seen a lot of larger events cause no problems at all and we all woke up the next day just fine :)
most of us just live in the reality of the possibilitys
and as i have talked with Tom about more than once...
if even one person is helped by the info we track down and report on, then we have done good :)

yup..here's a video of the Comet that ends at 16:30

I'm sure the comet impacted or burned up hours ago. Also.. it arrived after The M-flare CME so it's possible imo there's been at least one and possibly two large CME's

This is a very wrong action by this sunspot. Polarity being what it is the magnetism isn't going to coerce this to humble itself. this SS should rise up and release energy , with its makeup it isn't doing this its just half assing it

That delta region still has polarity kicking it should blow, when given rise to momentum the least it should do is a high level M, MId C is crap!

GONG has a network of scopes around the world to keep a constant up-to-the-minute watch on the Sun (weather permitting). Learmonth in Australia is live now and updates every few minutes. Here's the page w/all locations. The green ones are "live" and there's a time-stamp. They also offer a quick-view movie (every fourth frame) or a full movie. It's a handy tool for watching filaments and getting immediate looks at flare locations.
