[link to earthboppin.net] and if you scroll down past the details/coordinates on this page.. [link to www.mpe.mpg.de] there appears to be two actual pictures of the event itself. I don't have a clue if that's what it actually is but I can't think of anything else that would explain the strange ripples that seem to emanate from outside the Sun and the energy that surrounds it. This is one of the rare occasions that NOAA actually OVERESTIMATED a CME's impact (just as we did here).
