Sunspot 1861?

I was just running through all most recent STEREO images and when you look on all the EUVI 195 behind and ahead, it appears this northeast region's flare + CME was accompanied by a bit of activity in most of the sunspot regions all around the sun
thought, to make it clear, NONE of the other activity is considered an 'event'

just making clear so I don't wake up tomorrow to see a thread with a title like
"the entire sun just had one big solar flare and CME! were doomed!"

1861 looked to be at least somewhat flaring when that northeast one occurred
im watching 1861 close now
though its 5 am where I live and I have now been up for 24hrs :/
I knew there was some sort of reason I could not sleep
for some reason I get huge shots of energy with larger flares

1861 and northeast limb are making the sun look like it came back to life!

So, I very much appreciate that you took the time to offer your thoughts about this. I know that it is an illogical concern, but never-the-less, I have it. Yeah im waiting for that one myself i believe we have been looking in the wrong place {sunspots} where it concerns cme's and it's going to be a huge filament release that ultimately provides the lethal blow we all know is coming.

This isn't an LDE, it's normal solar activity for a solar max. The Sun has been too quiet lately for solar max. Now it's finally starting to act normal.

Here's a question to all the great minds on this thread. This week we had 2 sun-grazing comets, and 2 M flares. Are these events related? It seems that once a comet gets inside a certain point, the sun unleashes.

I am starting to think that this is our biggest concern with ISON. If we are getting M flares with these smaller comets, can ISON kick off a large X flare event?

We should get an X class soon.

Within a few days, the sunspot responsible for this outburst will rotate around to the Earthside of the sun. At that time, Earth-directed solar activity could increase.
