This explains a lot. Over about the last year and a half, I've seen the moon as when it's a sliver lying on it's back, like it's a smiley face. In all of my years, I swear I have never seen that. I even tried to find an image of it on google images, searching various things I could think of and nada, zilch.

I'm on the moon theme for a while now, and my personal experience is that the moon in fact is acting in a not normal way.

When i comment in any other thread, some even call me moontard, but hey i'm not here to find problems. I'm here to find some answer. (like many others)

That video is misleading. There is nothing wrong with the Moon's orientation. The Moon appears to rotate as it moves from East to West. It's called field rotation. A while back I made a short video in Stellarium showing field rotation from Moonrise to Moonset.

I noticed that to for the first time last month. It seemed unusual but I put it down to me not being very observant in the past. Astronut assured me on another thread that it is normal.I have been doing a search and can't find any images of a crescent waxing moon with the sliver of light at the very bottom.

O my Gosh! I was seriously just talking with someone about this ..I have noticed the moon is not where it should be this whole summer. I am a smoker and a night owl, so, I am outside a lot. I watch the sky. The moon has been in the wrong place many times. Almost like it is traveling backwards across the sky. At 2am it is where it should have been at 9pm, etc...I was going to put something out there to see if anyone else had noticed this...I know the moon is off..take it from a smoker who is outside a lot at night and gazes at the sky..I also live in the country, so have a wonderful view of the sky. Whatever is going on, something is not the way it should be..

Stellarium is most likely being altered to keep people from finding out what is really going on, which is the same reason the USGS censors itself so we won't know the truth about earthquakes, and why instead of seeing important information on the mainstream news, we get endless coverage of Casey Anthony. Stop trusting those liars! The Inuit people, who have been observing the moon for untold thousands of years now say that it is not in the right place in the sky. I trust them a lot more than some corrupt institution!
