Psychic's predictions for 2012 -- "ALLEGEDLY" From 30 years ago. F#@*ing scary! - English subtitles

It wasn't shot on film, it's 30 fps which means it was shot on video. 1980 video, even broadcast, was pretty low def and still using tube cameras.
I have a 1982 clip from ABC news taken direct off-air and it doesn't look this good.

If it's real....awesomeness - we get to go home...if it's a fake - oh well. Anyone else think dude is kinda hot? and I usually never think anyone from the 80's is hot. That more than anything makes me think it's fake.

I think it's legit. It was shot with a Sony Beta pro camera, the interview may have been in France which use PAL which was superior to anything in the US, then there's professional lighting. I had those same clothes, and I wore those same glasses in 1980 and owned an old viinyl album of the musical Carosel. I'm wondering where this guy is today. It would be cool to see how he's aged and if he's sticking to his profecy.

That's a slide carousel, my dad had tons of them, that box totally fits the time period.

If someone faked it, they did a really good job... NOT saying it isn't staged, if so, it was staged a lot better than some of you are giving credit.

I'm pretty sure France was using SECAM, not PAL. If it was a French camera crew/interview (hence the language), I'd assume the video format was SECAM.

Okay, IF it is a fake, and some actor has gone to the trouble to speak French, get sub-titles done accurately, wear period clothes, and have a stage-set with period furniture etc - why would some of the predictions be so vague or slightly out of date?

Surely if you were going to go that THAT much trouble to put out a fake prophecy video, you would have thrown in a few more detailed events that came true, ie 911, in order to make your efforts truly go viral? I mean, isn't that the point of making a fake video? To go viral?

The guy claims to be living in California, and he is speaking French. I cannot see why it is hard to consider that a French TV crew flew over to interview him, recorded it in French language on some broadcast quality version of SECAM, and screened it back over in France later on. That would make the most sense to me.

Some will call them aliens and others will call them demons.

I just re-watched all the close-up shots of this character's face and studied the reflections in his glasses hoping for a look at the camera man or at least his camera. At different points the lights used are very visible and reflecting, but I don't know enough about film equipment to say whether these kind of lights were available in 1980.

His tweezed eyebrows look absurd, something an actor would do.

The room, although very 1980ish, looks so staged. Like someone went through so much trouble to set it up, not just for an interview backdrop, but to actually DEMONSTRATE the era.

Who has that many records all neat and together, but shoved in the corner by a closet and with NO record player around? Also, that red lamp looks like something a person would buy today as a retro piece. It has a mod 50s look. Not something a person would have in 1980. And it's blocking a closet, not even turned on, so I am thinking it was put their because the set designer thought it looked 80s.

If the predictions were TOO spot-on, it would become too evident that it's fake.

The actor lives in France, but the fictional character lives in California: that way he can't be identified. If someone recognizes the actor in France today, they'd say, "he's too young, and this isn't California, so it can't be him." That's the idea.

Still, they put some effort into it.

If you look towars the bottom left hand side-it looks like it says "kodak" they (Kodak) stopped making this in 2004.

VHS tapes were popular... But the first consumer camcorders were made after 1982. This was made in 1980- by FILM.

Yeah, has too "new" a look to it for me to believe it's legit.

I agree and think it could of been filmed in France but for mine more likely England. The California story is a red herring meant, for some reason, to misdirect. I am not sure that isn't his own hair and the quality and lack of wear marks on his clothes and curtains make me wonder if it isn't real. I am not hung up on the quality of the film as anyone who has used beta will know that quality was available at the time. The guy seems uncomfortable though.

No matter what, it doesn't matter.

If "aliens" invade this year... it won't be unknown, it will either be

A: known and TPTB will hide
B: TPTB after centuries in power have the technology to MAKE it happen and MAKE it seem like an alien attack.

After all, once the electricity to the world/major cities is severed, the Internet goes and where the fuck would people get their news from? It doesn't matter what is wiping us out if you can't hear about it.

I had an encounter with the grays. The only way I can describe them is demonic. I am not entirely sure what will happen this year, but I think this guy is mostly correct. I also can't imagine a future beyond 2012 for some reason.

I found the last part amusing. Once you know he's acting it's all really amusing.

When it comes to the film, it is possible that it is genuine. If the video tape was put in a vault of some sort where it was a controlled climate and it wasn't played since it was recorded, then it's possible to have good quality like that.

I have video tapes that are 20-25 years old and have that kind of quality. It just depends on how good the tape is and how it was taken care of.

That said it's still probably a hoax, but a damn good one.
