Here's how we have gained

Men have had to take a few responsibilities that they used to dump on women.

Yep, men actually gain from assisting their partners helping around the house, cooking, cleaning etc. It's called teamwork!

When men assist their partners the children also gain from the experience. They spend more time with their kids. Sure some of that time is spent doing chores, but the chores are done faster leaving more time for the fun side of parenting.

All round it increases the quality time of both the mother and father with the kids.

Men also now get the opportunity of getting different perspectives. I love hearing a female perspective on a problem. Women handle things more maturely than most of the men I know. They are the strength in most families, but somehow they were given the title of the weaker sex.

Changing a relationship from a male dominated one to a shared experience is how we were meant to inter react.

The best workers I have ever worked with are women... Afterall they can multi task!

Try watching your friends relationships with an open mind... You will see that all women are asking for is mutual respect.

I'm not in the habit of repeating myself, so if you want to read it, it's there, and you will see that I am FAR from some man-basher. I just see that all this is a symptom, not the actual disease. The disease is the sick society. You seem to think the cure is men domineering over women. I disagree, but opinions are like assholes, as they say so that one is yours to tend to.

I actually feel what you are saying here. I was raised by my grandma and grandpa on a farm so I know how jacked up things have gotten in my generation alone, and the way things used to be...and I'm not just talking solely about male and female relationships. I'm talking about the trash peddled in the media and "pop" culture that the kids and braindead young adults (and some older ones) are looking up to these days. That said, I had a mom that was as strong as an ox. She was my hero and best friend, and she raised us well. Strong German Lutheran. She taught me more about life before I was five than I ever learned from any teacher in school. So, I have to respect that. She cared about how she looked and ran five kilometers a day well into her fifities to take care of herself so she would look good and feel good. She didn't get sucked into the consumer culture that tears womens' mind to shreds. SO, that is respectable, too. I have three sisters, all very respectable. Generally speaking they cope with the majority of the housework, the kids, the big kid (their partners), the cooking, the shopping, plus often have paid employment as well.

I didn't prove your point. Even if you think I did. Roles are important with respect to teamwork. Women and men like yourself have no clue what a team is because you've been raised without that idea being a commonly accepted way of life for most. Like I say, individualism is the way now. Take hockey, for instance, because it is a team sport. Each team has six players on the ice at a time. If all six players were trying to be the goal-scorer, then they would lose every game by twenty goals because nobody would be playing defense. If you think you're smart, then you'd know your strengths and it would be very natural to find a role that suits you in any situation. Same goes with others. That makes a good team. Have a look at the movie "A Beautiful Mind'. It tries to spell it out for the simples with a nice little story.

If you really want to see how it works, go to Taiwan. None of the bullshit we have here exists there yet.
