National socialism is not socialism. Socialism is left wing, national socialism aka fascism is extreme right. They are polar opposites. Hitler was one of the biggest opponents of communism ever. Calling Hitler a socialist or communist negates your argument and discredits you completely.

Who cares. Obama is now part of the Socialist party, its called the Democrats. You ever read the Democrat's Convention Platform? It reads like "The Communist Manifesto". State controlled health care this, increase taxes that, blah blah blah.

Again this is wrong. National socialism is just protectionist socialism. It has nothing to do with communism and certainly nothing to do with conservatism. It's an anti collectivism, anti capitalism. What else would you call a man who nationalized all of the banks and industries of Germany? Lol.

Yes Hitler was internationally recognized as a successful socialist, his turnaround of the German economy got him on the cover of TIME magazine. It wasn't until he started killing jewish people, that is when he was collectively disowned by anyone who had any praise for him.

There's a better way to resolve this argument. Instead of using words to describe the man in question let's just look at some of the crap he has pulled and judge him on that basis.

Killing innocent Mexicans and Americans in Operation Fast and Furious. Expanding conflicts in the Middle East. Re-naming fighting units in Iraq and Afghanistan so it looks like the trigger pullers are being withdrawn. Insisting on Language in NDAA that allows for US Citizens to be roused in the middle of the night, wisked away by secret police, never to be seen again. Re-Education camps for those who oppose his world views. Forcing citizens to buy a product from private companies or face jail or stiff fines. On and On and On.

We can call him a Communist, Socialist or the Easter Bunny but it really doesn't matter. The man is a danger to Freedom and a tyrant. And if ANY of his NDAA bullshit is actually enacted he'll be known as a complete monster.

I don't care if you're Liberal or Conservative. HOW THE HELL COULD ANYONE SUPPORT THIS KIND OF CRAP?

Yeah, and Communism was sold as being "for the people" too. The whole reason for the hammer and sickle symbolism was to appeal to the useful idiots who thought they would be the ones in power. The problem is, unless you are free to do what you want with your own property/business/money you are not free and whatever name you want to assign to that form of government, it is a form of tyranny no matter how benevolent it may claim to be. In Socialism, the government allows you to own your own property/business/money, but it tells you what you can and can not do with it. There are not rights given by God in that system because there are not rights at all, only allowances from government.

As power corrupts, that seemingly benevolent government will eventually dictate that what you want to do with what use to be your property/business/money is no longer allowable or that you must use it in ways you do not want. Finally, that socialized tyranny turns to full on communism when that formerly benevolent government simply takes what you have away and either gives it to someone else more compliant or destroys it outright to use as a fear tactic to control the rest of the population. Karl Marx himself in his Communist Manifesto said that Socialism was a transitional phase to Communism. There are just some roads you don’t start walking down because the path has no turns and your destination is destruction.

Learn from history or doom yourself to repeat it.

Except that in most cases, socialism doesn't evolve into communism. Is Germany communist, or Sweden? No, they know that socialism and capitalism work best together in social democracy.
