1. The cloth was woven according to fish bone weave..a type of weave..typical to that area..and to that time..only another was found with similar weave..a cloth found in Masada..same time period

2.The cloth istelf is woven according to religious burial rites of that time and place..with the type of thread mixture required ..

3.The cloth contains samples of polen of plants found in that area..

4.The cloth contains particles of earth typical of that geographical area

5. The figure of the man shows a man that was tortured and killed by crucifixion..the wounds correspond to the description given in the Gospels

6.Unlike public images and notion..the nails were not placed through the palm of the hands..the figure shows the nails placed through the wrists..this is medically necesary as the weight of the body would split open the palms..the bone structure of the wrists would hold the body up..

7.One single nail appears to have been driven through both ancles at once..all this as per FORENSIC EVIDENCE

I will go with your idea but remember to prove something scientifically means to have test it, have controls and also allow others to be able to repeat it. 13. The body also shows that the man was wearing a crown of thorns that covered all the scalp causing lacerations and pain due to nerve compression and injury that would have been excruciating with pain felt from head down back etc..

14. The cadaver also shows both arms elongated due to being dislocated as if the body had been hanging from a height and the weight causing both shoulders to come out of sockets

15.The thumbs of said cadaver also appear to be bent inwards due to nerve compression from the injury of the nails to said nerves

16.The face of the man appears to have been severely beaten..The nose appears to have been broken..the right cheekbone probably also and the right eye..which is swollen and would probably have been closed due to swelling impeding sight from same

17.The cadaver also has a wound in rib cage..wound that appears inflicted from a person standing beneath the body..because the thrust is upwards

18. According to the body fuids that emerge from the wound and stain the cloth..it is forensically determined that the body was already cadaver when the injury was inflicted

Those things prove only that it May have been wrapped around Jesus, not that it is supernatural. I do believe Jesus was a real "person", it the supernatural part that is the problem here.

And now we look at the image

1.The image is multidimensional
2.It is not paint
3.it is not dye
4.The image appears to have been singed..as in burned..but in a very unusual way which has yet to be replicated in lab..as only the very first fibers of the cloth appear marked
5.What seems to have singed the cloth is an apparent energy blast from WITHIN the body..marking the body on the cloth
6.From anatomical data..and pressure of body on cloth when this happened it would appear the body was NOT incontact with any hard surface when this happened..and was probably levitating in a horizontal position

And now we look at the blood

Allegedly
1.Samples were taken and it is established that the marks are blood
2. Ths stains from the side wound are from cadaver
3.The blood type is AB+


And now lets look at the Sudarium of Oviedo

In Oviedo Spain there is a cloth that dates back to aproximately the first century ...this cloth is reportedly the cloth that was placed over the face of Christ upon burial..as was common between the over lapping Shroud placed as an envelope over the cadaver a second cloth was placed over the face below the Shroud

The marks of this cloth and the marks of the Shroud allegedly coincide

and interestingly the blood is also of the same type

So then if what they say is true, then others will have to repeat these tests to verify similar results and again I still wonder what other supernatural things they can use for controls? If it can really be done, well then that changes everything doesn't it.

I hope you are right,cause yes we do need something right now. I am just not so sure this is it. They will need to open up more access to this item and allow for substantial testing to be done. Then I will be better swayed.

Then there is the matter of the height of this man..which in my opinion is very significant..
If you have studied or even seen remains etc..anthropological appertaining to even several centuries ago you will have noticed how people were rather short..check even armour..clothes etc..

people were exceptionally short compared to today

the body is around 5ft 7

which according to the average height of those days was pretty much a giant of a man..

this is very indicative in my opinion

(the body is of a well built athletic man..who wore his beard and hair according to the fashion of that time and place also)

Just a side note..In Rome there is the church where allegedly Christ appeared to Peter..Quo Vadis? there are some imprints that are said to have belonged to Christ..melted in stone..the originals are not there obviously but are in safe keeping..interestingly the foot is about a size 45 European size..which would correspond to a height of around 5ft.7 give or take

again in the days of Peter people were short and had correspondingly small feet..

The cloth has survived "miraculously " many situations that could have destroyed it

Also many associate this with the Catholic Church..the Catholic Church has it in safe keeping now..but this cloth can be traced back allegedly to Constantinople..to the famous Mandillion..which is reportedly this cloth..but folded..the cloth which survived the siege and was later taken by the Templars to Europe and handed over to the Savoy Family who later handed it over to the Catholic Church

Editor's Note: I asked Isabel Piczek, noted monumental artist, theoretical physicist and Shroud historian to answer this question. Isabel's expertise is based on her many years of experience in figurative arts and human anatomy.

A: The figurative arts have, as their special subject of study, proportion, type, structure and style of a body, including bone and muscle structure. The size of a face from the top of the forehead to the bottom of the chin, the type and length of the arms, the type of the fingers, the type and structure of the torso, etc., absolutely determine the height of a man and nature shows no variations. One has to add to all these a keen sense of draftsmanship, which sees foreshortenings and how they effect the height.

To my knowledge, in Shroud studies only three researchers addressed the question with solid authority:

In the early 1960's, Professor Lorenzo Ferri studied at length and in depth the question of the height of the Man of the Shroud. He spent decades with these studies and created, with special permission of the Vatican, a full size statue of the Shroud which is very correct. He has been quoted as saying that "The body of Christ could not have been fully stretched out in burial." And again, "The measuring of the body (by scientific methods) did not allow for the body being in a slightly hunched position." Professor Ferri held that the man of the Shroud was 6'1" to 6'2". Professor Ferri looked at this problem from the structural-sculptural point of view.

Dr. Robert Bucklin, M.D., spoke on television and elsewhere about the height of the Man of the Shroud. He gave his opinion as a medical expert, not as a forensic pathologist. He judged the man to be 5'11½".

The third person to study this problem with authority is myself. I have lectured on the subject at the New York International Symposium, the St. Louis International Symposium, in London at the British Society's special meeting, the Rome International Symposium and the 1996 Esopus Conference. The Rome and St. Louis Proceedings published my work on the subject.

I have approached the question of height from the design point of view - an image which describes a 3D object and vice-versa, including the problem of foreshortening. I have also analyzed body type, muscle structure and proportion. I determined the height to be 5'11½" to 6'1", give or take 1" for linen stretch and shrinking, both of which are possible. Because of the body type, even with shrinkage, the man cannot be under 5'11½". I lean more towards 6'0". Whether Jews in Jesus's time were smaller or larger is not relevant here. Jews were not small to start with, judging by the finds in the 1st century cemetery excavated near the wall of the Temple in the sixties. At any rate, there are many historical examples of tall people emerging out of nations with small stature: Goliath, King Arthur, Charlemagne, St. Ladislus the King of Hungary, etc.
