And every time the cme hits even the small ones, my power goes out. Sometime just for a few hours sometimes for the whole day. That's what I get for moving to a third world country with shit infrastructure. Quoting: BoroBoro Peace. Hi, Boro. This is what I'm thinking too. I'm gonna go with the OP on this one. "Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 Truth needs no validation because it is self-evident and undeniable. I have learned a lot from fellow GLP'rs and this is an area I don't understand at all so I must bow to others knowledge... Because I don't generally follow this subject matter and don't know much about the OP I probably would have dismissed the validity of this. But Dr Astro and I have disagreed on numerous subjects that I feel I DO understand. I'm not saying he's wrong about this. I just know that when he says he's right about something I experience the opposite. This is a good example of why I think we should pay attention to all posters opinions because in this case it is Dr Astro who has helped me conclude this is worth paying attention to. For that I am grateful to Dr Astro as well as the OP. Hope you're well, friend. Mig |

OP has already had people vouch for his/her reputation, while Dr. Astro has the opposite. I don't understand much of this either, so I would have to take your lead and defer to the experts. I did do some reading up on the Carrington event of 1859 as well as the Solar Super Storm of 1921. I don't think we really know what something of that magnitude would do to the world's infrastructure. "Be still, and know that I am God." The only reason there is a distinct lack of people 'vouching' for Dr Astro's reputation is because he pisses on the doomtards fire with an informed opinion on the relative subject matter. The pure fact that there has been no astronomical doom in recent years means that he has been accurate on most if not all occasions. How anyone can say they 'experience' the opposite of Dr Astro's opinions is a bunch of crap. Truth is universal. |

In 2003 a -350 Dst storm disrupted American air traffic control and caused power outages in Sweden (1st world country last time I checked). Now I'm not saying this CME is on par with 2003, just clarifying that it doesn't need to be a Carrington event in order for it to be felt. I don't think we really know what something of that magnitude would do to the world's infrastructure. I remember reading one of these threads once and was totally lost about the whole CME thing. However the people posting apparently knew enough and a few mentioned satellite disturbances for a particular afternoon. Funny and true story here: I proceeded to run errands and ATMs and debit/credit card terminals began going down here in my city just about the time the event occurred. I called my sis and told her if the cell phone she was using went out to make sure and email me about plans about a family dinner we were to have that evening. Sure enough, her cell phone zoned out for a bit. She thought I was psychic or something. I told her, "No. I just read GLP." For the first time ever she didn't roll her eyes at me and I thing GLP gained some credibility with a couple of scoffing family members that day. Last Edited by Miggy on 09/28/2012 06:57 AM |

Veresanctus User ID: 1438020 United States 09/28/2012 07:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hmm, I remember reading somwhere that the 28th was a date to watch but not sure why. GET SAVED: Thread: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION? "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26 |
