It seems to me, that most liberal democrats who have obtained political office, have become detached from reality. Sometimes, I wonder. I really do wonder if dumbed down Changelings have been switched for political personalities.

Once they are elected it seems their brains melt down.

I'm an Eastcoaster (conservative, I guess), self reliant, and prepared. I don't understand the mentality of waiting for others to fix things for you. I have not only taken care of my family, we are also supplying hot meals to people who are here to help. DO NOT RELY ON THE GOVERNMENT TO TAKE CARE OF YOU!

I've got food set aside. I didn't wait for the storm to be announced. It was easy. Each time I shopped, I bought a couple extra things: Rice, beans, canned salmon. I also have extra water, but need to get more.

I did this for a few months.

I'm ready.

Really, how the heck hard can it be to provide water for heaven sake?

On ABC's "This Week" program today they were saying Obama's superb handling of Hurricane Sandy was going to put him over the top for a second term.

They were absolutely gushing.

And one of the Democrat guests said Sandy was caused by global warming!

For God's sake, even though these people are without food, water, basic medical care or even beds, this is NO reason to discriminate against those who thought ahead and prepared for the worst by stocking up on laptop batteries & swizzle sticks.

People don't realize the amount of labor required to rebuild.

Less and less people entering the work force are TRADE TRAINED.

These kids go to school and take Massage therapy and Accounting and Bookeeping and Social Working. They don't like the hard labor jobs and won't train for them.

Most of the ones trained and have a trade are starting to get to retirement age.

You watch what happens coming up. There is going to be nobody around to fix stuff. There is a shortgage already.

Just these rip off artist types that are JACK OF ALL TRADE TYPES and everybody forced to use them gets burned.

How many of these people are starting to even clear out their homes and dry them out. Have chain saws and such.

I heard there were 600 active duty firemen that lived in Rockaways. Their probably the only ones capable of anything.

You obviously have NO insight into the complexities of water!

Do you have any clue as to how rare and expensive the raw materials required for its production have become?! Not to mention storage, polishing, transportation and disposal costs!

We have enough trouble with the EPA over shipping this highly volatile fluid into STABLE parts of our country! You would have us now distribute this, possibly lethal combination of toxins, into a zombie-filled wasteland, devoid of power?!

Look, maybe we can give this a few weeks and see what happens?

Cripes, there is an election just around the corner! I would hate to see your innocent little idea of just "providing" water to the general population, possibly derail a critically important national dialogue, and destroy Obama's chances.

I do believe it may be in all of our best interests, if we hold off further discussions on this matter and wait until after Christmas...there will be some excellent post-holiday sales where we could really enhance these peoples lives in a more meaningful way.
