Re: Why do Christians think Jesus is GOD?
What verses do you quote to prove this?
.
 Quoting: ? 945308

It is an interpretation derived from Trinitarian theology. When Christ was given divine status by the bishops at Nicea, God was said to be tripartite consisting of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. With that declaration Jesus was elevated to first an aspect of God, then in modern times, another name for God, according to some "fundamentalist" sects of Christianity. Mainstream Christians maintain that Jesus is merely the Son aspect of the Tripartite God.

Yes this is true.

Re: Why do Christians think Jesus is GOD?
The problem here is that people take the falsified bible for true. To proof something with the wrong tool cannot function.

I agree, Jesus was completely human.

I can stand behind that statement.

You do realize that by saying he was "ALSO completely human", you are stretching and reinventing the English language to support you in your idol worship though, don't you?

I mean, something cannot be COMPLETELY something, but ALSO something else...

Your mind is making up all sots of logical impossibilities to support your doctrine, it has too, because what you are believing in doesn't make any sense.

There is a much simpler explanation...your God and my god and Jesus's God is ONE, the creator of all things. He created Jesus to serve a purpose, a human being, to deliver a message and carry out a ministry.

One does not have to work in all of the idol worship and deification of this human to believe and to listen to Jesus's words and to live to please this creator.

This is the insidious trick of the whole thing.

By deifying Jesus Christians have dismissed his message, and therefore do not have to consider WHAT IT SAYS, and live accordingly...

By making him a deity they have shifted the focus away from his message and onto HIS PERSON, and you get ideologies like - "He died for my sins", therefore meaning that one only has to believe in the idol of Jesus rather than do right by his message.

This is how Satan works, and he s crafty.

Satan will drag you into idol worship and make it seem right to you the whole time.

Satan will fill your head with all kinds of illogical fallacies and fancy explanations or simple things and make them seem like they are simple truths.

This has been done with every religion by our enemy. Satan introduced the Talmud into the Jewish religion, and ruined it.

Satan introduced the trinity concept, and all of the other ways to idolize Jesus into the Christian religion.

Satan introduced the Hadith into Islam and therefore ruined that religion.

It's the same process, over and over, and I hate to see good people get caught in these traps.

82% of the words of Jesus are not his:

"The Five Gospels," is a 550 page book containing translations of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

It was the result of a six year study by 24 Christian scholars from a number of Western universities. They decided to produce a translation of the Gospels which would be uncolored by the translator's personal faith.

It was decided that this translation was to give the reader an honest picture of what Jesus truly said. They scanned the text for the words of Jesus, and collect an index of over 1,500 such sayings. They then tested the validity of each of these sayings, one at a time, to see whether Jesus truly said each one. They then produced a fresh translation, color-coded to show authentic Jesuit sayings and those of an unreliable nature. Their conclusion (page 5) was:

"Eighty-two percent of the words ascribed to Jesus in the gospels were not actually spoken by him."

They go on to reveal that:

"biblical scholars and theologians alike have learned to distinguish the Jesus of history from the Christ of faith. It has been a painful lesson for both the church and scholarship. The distinction between the two figures is the difference between a historical person who lived in a particular time and place...and a figure who has been assigned a mythical role, in which he descends from heaven to rescue humankind and, of course, eventually returns there."

Well then, if 82% of the "words of Jesus" found in the Bible were apparently never spoken by him then where did they come from? Some of the sources demonstrated by the authors are:

"The concept of plagiarism was unknown in the ancient world. Authors freely copied from predecessors without acknowledgment. Sages became the repository of free-floating proverbs and witticisms. For the first Christians, Jesus was a legendary sage: it was proper to attribute the world's wisdom to him. The proverb in Mark 2:17, for example, is attested in secular sources (Plutarch and Diogenes for example)...in the parallel to the Markan passage, Matthew adds a sentence taken from the prophet Hosea (Matt 9:13)."

So there is no real proof that Jesus is God through reading the Bible.

wrong.
Jesus is God. period end of sentence.
Jesus was also completely human.
What he experienced was as God and also as son of man.

He is both.
What he offers and is is also the same for us.
The only part of the Jesus experience we cannot achieve is becoming God Himself. Everything else is ours for the taking.

your line of thinking is deception.
untangle it to find truth.

Your belief system is a duality.....good/evil....god/satan...
light/darkness.....get rid of the duality and it all falls apart.....Out of five pages only one other poster saw this.

You asked an interesting question and the answer is yes. Everyone through Christ enters into the Godhead of Christ. That was the purpose for this life. This world is a place for testing, pain, suffering, that God may test your heart to see if your humble, to be found worthy to be with him by his side as a son just like Jesus Christ. He is God of Gods just like it's written in psalms. But this only happens through him no other way.
 Quoting: Semper Fi 6875630

Correct, this only happens through Him or more correctly by becoming Him! Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus.... The implication being that the Mind of Christ becomes life and Spirit within us, hence we are not simply like Him we are One in Him and hence the Father as well!
That which is - has already been, And what is to be - has already been. Quote: King Solomon.

Re: Why do Christians think Jesus is GOD?
Here is a website that compiles modern day visitations from the Lord Jesus , which I find fascinating and exciting....you will see in the hundreds of accounts--Jesus is God- He says it clearly. The Father,Jesus and the Spirit are One. This is the will of God, so with the many scriptures that back it up-- I see no reason to disbeleve any longer. Jesus Christ is Lord and He is God, and He is still speaking today --go look!!
[link to www.spiritlessons.com]

you have to believe by faith...

...even if one comes from the dead to warn,, many will not believe.

...Believe in Jesus, he is our Lord and our God
