Quoting: Dr. Acula [link to news.discovery.com] there's a picture of the said creature in the above link... don't get too excited... cos its small... "its body extends 25 microns (about the width of some human hairs) with a tightly coiled stalk about twice that long. And like all eurkaryotes, the organism was equipped with a nucleus -- in this case, a large horseshoe-shaped nucleus inside the main body. (A micron is one-millionth of a meter.)" (taken from the above link) but if you get overly excited over microscopic critters... then this is your cup o tea... That's funny considering the earth is only approximately 6000 years old |

Of course the cocoon did it unwittingly, sheesh...there are no wits in the cocoon... Anyhow, cool find Dr. Acula! :-) And the leech that did it, glad those things are long gone!!!!! Anonymous Coward User ID: 1446031 United States 12/10/2012 12:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the funny thing is that no matter your belief, none of us have any solid concrete way to know if the earth is millions of years old or just a feew thousand in tune with bibilical standards. Either way, you are taking in a belief of a time table as a absolute when you cant prove it. Can any of us even decide what is dreaming and what is waking life. Look at it objectively... none as me saying some new age belief. But at some point you come to the conclusion that this life is short, and that your best avenue is to spend it learning and constantly moving forward. Eventually you learn that the big bad government, the terrorists of third world countries, and the soul sucking corporations are completely irrelavent. This place is chaos, wheter jesus really saved us or we are just a product of evolution, there is no absolute concrete evidence that points to a truth, but there is duality is the form of differing perspectives on just about every avenue, fact, or theory. This place is one giant chaotic subjective expierience. Stop spending your time arguing over dogma in the forms of divine intervention belief or wanting to kill religion. Hitchens destroyed religion and his infatuation with trying to kill it made him smoke more cigarettes which killed him. Beleivers spend their whole life trapped in a sado masochist mental prison that leave others pushing them around. This world is our oyster, use it for good and create something that someone else will pick up on. Life is short and full of shit... make the best of it..... ten bucks says someone says that I am a shill, satan, or controlled by demons. the point is that arguing over petty things is time spent unwisely... ask questions that generate in depth discussion, not throwing insults. Also does any one wonder if we are really talking to other people or just some kind of giant AI???????? |
