Like I said a few posts up, what about the theory that she has maybe said a big F U to the Hollywood elites and their agenda. Mel "saved her" is basically giving them the finger anyways.

And no, please example the Patriot thing...

Maybe she was worried that this "coming out" speech could possibly ruin her career, and that's why it felt like "the end of an era"?

So do I. That was the first thing that came to my mind though when I was watching it last night. She thanked Mel and the camera panned to him and he was just all "HUH?"

I also believe she knows something BAD is coming down... she is well connected

She may also be tying to send a message to the waking world and Mel is shitting bricks because he knows exactly what she is doing.

That's exactly how I took him "saving" her. Remember his drunk Jew rant? Wonder if it has something to do with that?

Someone on the Interwebs seriously needs to do a parady of Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster. Maybe something like,

"Huh? Huh? Huh?"

"I'd like to thank M-M-M-Mel"

"Hug? Huh? HUH?"

movie tickets for a family to go see a good movie(if there were such a thing) cost too much wait for it to come to amazon it's cheaper. most of the stuff is shit face it. the old days old ways have been over for sometime now. taking the middle class down hurts everyone who didn't know that? they maybe are smart enough to know when to walk off

I don't know what they are saying but agree that Foster and Costner are on the same page whatever that page may be.

Never saw Jodi Foster looking better, either.

Also agree some frightened faces in the crowd. It was a different kind of crowd that is usual for these events.

She LITERALLY does doublespeak...

I will give time examples in the video...

I mean first of all, hit 3:30 for an earful...

Then she says "Some day in the future, people will look back and remember how beautiful it once was".

SERIOUSLY FOLKS.

Then head on over to 4:30 when she says "Lifers"... this is moreso an subconscious instance of doublespeak, perhaps submitted without full realization of its meaning... regardless, I feel it can go into the category.

Look at 5:10... "this song"... total doublespeak.

6:10 - the shake in the voice, the talk of 'any stage'. The talk of telling stories... "to move people, by being moved" - literally talking about how she has been an 'image'.

Catch the chick's face at 6:26... yeah, she's taking this lightly.

And actually, the entire speech after this point... if you don't get it, baby you never will.

the facial expressions.. the tears... that's all about feeling an affinity for a fellow actor who is up on stage being REAL. a fellow actor who is displaying top-shelf talent on the stage, talking from the heart.

anyone who can't see that - and can only see "ZOMGHOLLYWOODMSGS666BBQ" - really need to step away from their keyboards for a week or 10.

I think after long careers and promoting violence, they see the end has come to a great many things.

I thought her comments were bittersweet and kind of sad.

They know the world is getting ready to rock, and they fear they're just not ready for the rock, or the bunkers.

I'm sure many of them are thinking if success was worth the price they will ultimately pay.

She's being criticized by the gay community for not just coming right out and saying it, long ago.

But you know, it IS about privacy! Nobody's business but her own.

It did sound like a fuck you... But it always seemed like a retirement award...

Even still out of that whole speech the only thing I got out of it was Mel...

Seriously folks, the most important speech of the night was Costner's. give it a listen again. He mentions how the illuminate these movies for ya. Something is going down and he knows it.

What about the rest of the crew? They all looked seriously depressed and upset. To me it is very obvious, but then I have already accepted this is TEOTWAWKI. It appears from the responses to this thread that a lot of people are still asleep or in denial.

I took the same thing from it. almost as if one of us was up there trying to tell everyone the shit is about to go down but knowing full well she cant just come out and say it. The rest of the crowd looks like they know as well.. I dont watch tv, Are these things always this gloomy?

I agree with you. But there was way more emotion that usual in everybody there. It was primal type emotions, very deep.

Simple. You want privacy? keep away from fame and power.

Nobody says anything about her and the blood sisters and brother comment she made like bound by blood or whatever i dont want to watch it again or I would be exact. That and yes the industry will be one of the first to go when TSHTF , no money, no movies to go see , hell if a solar flare hits us no tv or electric. So yes their time is up either financial problems in USA or something worse. Truth is we all see it coming they are just as informed as us I would hope to think and we all see it, my face is looked like Mels for over 2 years now come on people

I'm confused. Nuthin' new in these times.

In 1992 I was on a date in a restaurant on 4th st. in Santa Monica. There was a party of about 7 or 8 at a table to my right. A girl was sitting in the middle facing our direction, wearing a business suit type of dress. She kept looking at me. Then I said to my date "hey, that's Jodie Foster" (no big deal in that part of LA). My date angrily said "yeah, I know". Jodie left with her party and walked past our table looking at me.

I thought she was gay. Didn't care, but her attention didn't make sense if she *was* gay.

I don't mind gay men. More girls for us. But beautiful gay women (re: lipstick lesbians) bum me out.

That's just it: Jodie's speech was VERY deep. Her talent was oozing up there, way beyond the norm. On a personal level though - not in some "the world's about to end! I know cuz i'm an insider!" kind of way. IMO of course.
