Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5036819 You act like there aren't thousands of highly skilled and qualified professionals and amateurs watching this thing minute by minute. You only post this crap where there are crowds of mushy minded people. So what if they're watching..? What difference does that make..? And you call others mushy-minded. If it deviated one little bit, they'd run over their children and pets to be the first one to report it. If it were going to strike the Earth and they reported it first, they'd get their name on it. They'd be THE rockstars of their peers. NO WAY could information such as you suggest be hidden. Even in little tiny towns there are amateur astronomers with backyard observatories watching and calculatining every night hoping they see something first so they can get some glory. IT STILL DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. People will believe what they wish to believe. It does to this little thing I like to call "reality." What people believe because they wish to believe it is irrelevant. |

Unless a person has access to the data, the ability to use it and the credentials to back it up.. 'Everyone can access the data if they want it. If you're too stupid to use it, well I can't help you there, but not all of us are that stupid.' Hope that made you feel better. Well... I'm not going to swap nasties with you.. My expertise is not in astronomy.. it is music.. I don't call non-musicians stupid because they can't play an instrument expertly. You act as if those who are interested and experienced in astronomy but are only amateurs and not professionals are too stupid to use it. I don't 'act' in any way.. I have, professionally, but that's beside the point. Having an open mind about these things is not wrong. My point is, as I have repeatedly stated.. people will believe what they wish to believe.. regardless of who is saying what. I have not made any predictions either way. |
Dr. Acula Senior Forum Moderator User ID: 5240 United States 02/05/2013 05:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | anyone can spend a few hundred bucks and buy a telescope... they can get the info about DA14 from the net and make observations of their own. the equipment is out there readily available and so is the info... its not like its some super secret hard to do thing... that is only reserved for the evil government agencies... yes even the most tard of tards can locate and confirm the trajectory of DA14 sooner or later a threat will appear to this planet... but DA14 is not that threat _______________________ |

Even certain shills on this website have gone far enough to post trumped up data on this in the form of youtube video, and this person(s) are part of the cover up. I know a few people on the higher up scale that said it was orginally not supposed to hit but it has been confirmed their data was dead wrong. Lets just hope this thing doesnt land in a highly populated area. Dr. Astro Senior Forum Moderator User ID: 4211721 United States 02/05/2013 05:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ignoring reality is. My point is, as I have repeatedly stated.. Quoting: Waterbugpeople will believe what they wish to believe.. regardless of who is saying what. I do not care. If people want to be idiots and claim complete falsehoods in the face of reality, fine, but I will put the truth out there for those who aren't so irrational and will actually look at the evidence. Believe it or not, there ARE rational people out there who aren't familiar with the details of astronomy and celestial mechanics. Those people will not automatically believe whatever it is they want to believe, nor will they assume that amateur sources of information are part of some grand conspiracy. Even if my information never reached them, when this object comes and goes exactly as myself and so many others predicted it will instill a seed of doubt in those who previously believed otherwise. That is why there are people here who do appreciate the information I present, even if they aren't necessarily on the "debunker" side of the fence. They've seen that I've been right time and time again. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 22948885 United States 02/05/2013 05:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wasn't the op's entire point the trajectory information publicly available has been modified to show a relatively harmless course???? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22948885 Which is demonstrably wrong. Wouldn't that mean all you are doing is promoting EXACTLY what the op said tptb WOULD promote until the time comes for "full" disclosure of the actual circumstance????? Quoting: ACI'm promoting the truth. Just because the OP claims it's a conspiracy and everyone who says its not going to hit based on their analysis of the orbit is part of the conspiracy does not make it so. You're either gullible, narcissistic, egotistical, or have a very set agenda you can not stray away from, risk retribution from some higher source that gives you the ability to do and say with your level of "authority". Quoting: ACNone of the above. I know from doing the calculations for myself that the OP is wrong, particularly when they claim that people like me are part of the conspiracy. And when the OP is shown to be lying on the 15th, I will be here waiting for his apology. Get a life astro you made this thread what it is Quoting: AC:hellyeah: Are you saying I'm responsible for this cluster fuck? No, you guys did that to yourselves, I'm just the dog who's eating out of your food bowl while you're busy fucking everything up. Um, could we please see your calculations? I mean, you can take pictures of comets millions of miles away from earth, but you dont show "how" you calculate your facts. Seriously, I'd like to see what you're working with, as a non-active participant. I personally don't care if there is an impact next week or next millennia; there's problems we can tackle right now that does not need an asteroid impacting us to kick start. Oh, well it doesn't really matter. Da14 was discovered in when? 2012? By who? Professional astronomers in Spain? And it's going to be closer than some satellites?? Even for an "official non-event" there's really not that much time |

I'll post that in this thread when it's done.
