HI SO!

I found something really cool at the grocery outlet store yesterday, it's a ground pork sausage with wine and provolone cheese. It made the best meatloaf!

They just got out of here! Several tornado warnings....some areas out of power and some strong wind gust with a little damage here and there around town!

Daughter said they had a pretty good thunderstorm this morning. The walls were shaking and the dog got so scared she peed herself.

Poor baby! They got the good ones this morning. We did not! I love thunderstorms too!

We haven't had a really big thunderstorm for the last couple of years, they have been pretty mild. Not a bad thing since they usually come in the dry summer season and start fires in the hills.

Poop, the kids have homework and need the computer. Guess homework trumps GLP time! Have a good night.

I sadly don't have the patch to work with anymore right now, but it's in the family--raspberries are really good, and freeze well...just don't wash first, if you'd like 'em to stay whole when they defrost! My aunt learned that from experience.

I tried to grow blueberries in the past, only did well in zone6b, when I had sandy soil that was on the acid side. They supposedly need a rather acid soil, I never managed to get them grow well in anything remotely alkaline or balanced, even when trying to amend the soil with flowers of sulfur.

I've made vanilla sugar before, but didn't know how to make orange or lemon sugar. Don't know about lavender sugar. I've got old recipes that use sugared violets, but not lavender.

Flav, there are alot of recipes for scrubs and all things like that, too. Might be something good.

Thanks Lily. I've read that it takes up to six months for the sulphur to be in the soil enough to make a difference, and adding peat moss, and compost helps. I noticed at the place I pick, that each tree is raised a little above the area around it, like in a hill of it's own.

Thanks, Nine's! Sounds like a good idea, of course I didn't prepare the bed ahead of time! I will take your advice next time, if I'm going to work with the acid-loving plants, will try to give a bed a year to get settled before I plant, thanks!

You're welcome Lily, but do your own research first. I'd hate for you to do a lot of work on something I said and have it be wrong or not work out.

Will do! I'm sure it will work out fine though, sounds like good advice to me. Would help the sulfur get distributed and not burn any roots, etc. Common sense I think, sometimes I'm lacking in that department!

TB, wanted to let you know that there's flooding. I'm sure your parent's already know, but just in case. Findlay is a mess. Lots of roads closed and they're handing out sandbags in some areas. Schools are delayed all around.

The Portage River at Woodville is above flood stage, but the Blanchard is supposed to crest around noon I believe, so the Portage should crest and fall shortly after that. Findlay is the worst, so I'm sure they're ok at this point, but wanted to let you know. If they need anything, text me.

Hey! Thanks, I didn't know. Just woke up for awhile and haven't checked the Blade yet. I figured it would happen soon. Too much rain...again. There's a couple of pretty good dips on 105 outside of Woodville that always flood. I'll call them later today.

You're welcome. Don't want to worry you but knew you'd want to know. Things are ok so far though. The Blade doesn't have much on it yet, except school closings, as far as I know, but the news stations are on it. Here's some on it.

I'm sure the folks are ok, except the yard and the field behind them are probably flooded. Packer Creek is in town, far enough away from them. Big Bro, on the other hand is a couple of houses away from it AND has a basement.

Ugh. Poor bro. Hope he's got a good sump pump. Yeah, Findlay always gets it. Thought they'd done some clearing and had things a little better, but here they are again. It's creeping into the pasture in a couple places but not too bad yet.

Here's the 11 and 24 news links too. Sometimes one station is better than the others at covering things. Weather.com has the flood levels too, and where things are at, on their warnings.
