As someone who is "gender fluid" (meaning my gender perception/hormones/etc changes from time to time), I'm glad to see that schools are taking action for TG's...that being said, I'd really rather you stay in the bathroom dictated by your current physical self...male reproductive organs? Boys' room. Female delicates? The ladies' room. It's just good hygiene to do that.

Of course, that does present a problem for the intersex genders, as they have both sets of parts...I'd say let them choose which restroom to go to, as there's really no other option (some are more female than male, others are more male than female, so you can't group them all as closer to one basic gender or the other).

All that being said, this is a good move in my opinion - there are several more genders out there than just male and female, and yet only the two basic genders are the ones who are publicly treated as if they exist.

That dumb social taboo has worked just fine for many, many years.

Again, you have yet to explain to me why the desire of one person outweighs that of dozens or more, or why it should be changed to suit one single person.

Why is what that one person wants more important than what the majority wants?

We're talking about someone wanting to defecate in a bathroom intended for the opposite sex. Why don't they want to go in their own bathroom? Because they're uncomfortable?

Basically it's ok for the gender confused kid to feel uncomfortable and for the school to accommodate them but when it's the other kids feeling the discomfort the general attitude is fuck them, who cares?

Why are you so concerned with where someone, somewhere else, wants to relieve themselves?!? There are, at best guess, around 19 million transgender people in a world of 7 billion people. If you think hiding as much as possible about sexuality and being scared to talk about it in front of the opposite sex, or even another person, has "worked just fine", than that's sad. And for the second part of your argument, you could apply that 100% to slavery.. It's discrimination to not recognize people that don't identify as their physical sex, plain and simple.

As a female I would be uncomfortable if a he/she was sharing a bathroom with me, even though I would most likely befriend the person if they were nice. I wouldn't be bothered if I didn't know it was a guy, though.

If he dressed like a girl and went into the guys bathroom I can see all the danger and trouble there, too. If I was his mother I wouldn't want that, either.

He should "pass" all the way as a female or use the teachers bathroom.

Grade school isn't the time to make these demands, that's why a magnet school where people are willing to expose there children to a more open world can experiment with how to handle this and how it effects EVERYONE involved.

Why don't we just have restrooms marked "human"? Then whoever wants to use it can.. I'm sure there would be many people that don't give a flying fuck what the person in the next stall has in their crotch, I know I wouldn't.
