A stable climate for the last 11,000 years? Really? That's quite a blanket statement, leaving out the obvious Medieval Warm Period when the Vikings were farming on Greenland, and making a huge assumption about the rest of that global 11,000 years. Wonder what definition of a "stable climate" he used when he made that very broad proclamation? I'm not buying it.

I do however believe that we had an unusual period of stability in North America in the years of the mid twentieth century, and that people have such tunnel vision that they think everything is always supposed to be like that everywhere.

Think about what's implied in that statement, "We must set aside our differences" EVERYTHING is implied in that statement. That's been used by every totalitarian government, every repressive organized church, every fascist regime. To quote Monty Python "Now we see the violence inherent in the system!"

We are, "The Human Race that is", a mostly "reacitve" life form. We are very rarely, or at least not enough of us to do any real good ever "pro-active" on any scale. Sure we prepare for devistation, but we rarely prevent it. That is the most sad state of affairs. I believe that the Human race will carry on, possibly not as thriving as we are today, but will carry on non-the-less. What bothers me the most is how evil Humans can be when left to their own devices.

I hate to think that my children may have to grow up in this type of environment. I for one, will leave the population centers and live from the land, as peacefully and prosperously as possible. Hopefully, "in my area" there are others that are like-minded on this subject. For when the time does come, I do hope that there are other "families" that will follow us and live peacefully, but prepared.

There was a record amount of methane gas in my toilet this morning but it seems to have calmed down now. Hopefully it doesn't alter the climate in my bathroom.

First you would have to know the real record to establish a base line. At the time the Romans occupied England they had vineyards around Manchester. Waaaaay too cold for that now so what really is warmed? They burned the forests in England making glass for windows. Didn't need them before.

I am more concerned about O2 levels. Our O2 comes from the oceans. The oxygen made by land plants is about matched by the oxygen used in weathering rock. Humans get in trouble below 20% and it is 21% now. I suspect the first signs will be observed in tourists visiting mountain sites in Peru, if its not already.
