Ok, the woods behind my new house are really creepy at night. Even my dog is spooked out there and wants to go back inside.

Battle fields, burried treasures, hangings, Native burial grounds, crimes, and murders, vodun rituals, Donner party descendents, things that go bump in the night. Endless possibilities. None good.

Or maybe your dog knows there's a stone cold bitch out there his fear of commitment has shaken him to the bone.

So have you prayed over the property and house (including each room) anointing it with oil in the name of Yeshua binding any unclear spirits and rebuking them by the power of the blood of Christ which sets you free?

Start at the four corner of the property and then the entrances and each room anointing each entrance to each room with oil (blessed prior by your pastor and the leadership of your church if possible...). Start in the basement and bind any spirits that may reside there to leave by the power of the blood of Christ and to never return.

Having numbers of believers with you that have faith is good but again a true believer can do this on their own. If you feel a presence even afterwards then it's time to fast and pray before doing it again.

Your dog is not stupid... Wild boars (wild pigs) have a fowl stench and will drive the bravest of dog to cower due to the stench.

Many diseases give off stench that keen dog scents can pick up on - if a dog encounters a new scent that is off, smells of disease (or death) he mayn't be interested in investigating what smells that way.

Before jumping on the bandwagon of spiritual activities, hire a tracker to go around the woods during the day and investigate the tracks - unless you yourself know how to find and identify animal tracks.

It is possible you have a diseased critter - say an animal with gangrene (oozing, stinking dying from infection wound) - that is enough to cause most sensible dogs to back off. They may not know what gangrene is, but instinctively they know its not good - definitely not good to eat.

That's what my suggestion would be. To take a cell phone during the day and look around. Sometimes woods are used for dumping grounds for bodies and some dogs react to them. Seems he'd have reacted to it in the daytime too though.

There are feral hogs and bear in Ohio and a deer can sound like a man creeping through the woods when leaves are down and dry. Even smaller animals make the sound through leaves. Soon as the corn dries up, it makes that rustly, rattly sound every time the wind blows.

Sure wouldn't go out there at night. Your dog is telling you something. I'd listen.

well, its not a huge wooded area

its a gulch with houses on both sides

not thick with trees, so you can see the houses around

its a small area

my house sits on .66 acres

half of it is landscaped area and house/detached garage

its in the heart of the town with heavy traffic all around

i seriously doubt a person is buried back there. if they are, it was done a hundred years ago or more

Salt, I am no psychic. But I always go with my first gut instinct or my first vision. I almost never have been wrong when doing so.

I had a vision that they are watching your home from the woods. I am not sure why, but it is a creey thought/feeling to have anyone or thing watching you.

Protect yourself with quartz crystals placed at the four perimeters of your home and imagining healing, protecting white light around your home and property.

Again, just my hunch.

i have too much of God in me for them to stand anywhere near me.

Use the stump for late-night target practice. All animals will flee at the sound of gunshots (even charging mother bears), so anything that decides to stick around would be something you don't want to mess with. (Double to check to make sure it actually is a stump first).

Perchance this area also has an old mill around?

I saw something about a place like that on one of the paranormal TV shows.
Not sure if it was in PA or NJ though.

Whatever it is, you will find out over time if you can just live with it and adjust, or if you need to take action.

I would plan on staying out all night one night to find out.
