Called cops on me for nonsense, yet she is going to be sorry or should I? We opened our pool today, 16x32 and our driveway is right next to our neighbor's backyard. So we drug our pool cover over to her grassy area instead of getting it dirty by trying to fold it in the gravel drive. Quoting: savcash It was wet as we had rinsed it off, so I couldn't fold it up wet for mold/smelly I didn't want. It was only going to take FIVE minutes with the wind drying it spread out flat. I tolerate my neighbor, as she has 4 dogs, who bark constantly when she lets them out in her run, for years now. We dont speak as about 3 yrs ago I had words w her about the noise and that she is only allowed THREE dogs in the city here, she should consider moving to the country if she wants so many dogs. (Didnt help a bit, grrrr). She has no side yard, so she drives her riding lawn mower up my drive to get to her front yard...as her small tree is in her way to stay on her own property to get it to the front yard. Today she and her adult kids open her back door and yell, cuss at us because of us drying this cover in her grass. Cussing she is going to call the cops, we are trespassing -I tell her it is only for 5 mins, and hey she drives up on my property all the time, and if she calls the cops, I will tell them about her 4 dogs, barking all the time! She calls them anyway. (Cop didnt read me riot act) Now I am going to put a fence down beside the driveway so she will stay off it, need to cut that small tree to get mower to her front yard. The noise is really bad whenever we have company in our backyard from her 4 dogs barking all the time. Question is, should I also report to the city about her extra dog (will help w the barking noise, grrr) but will also show her, you only get back as good as you give..not going to let someone walk on me like that...but would feel bad, her needing to give up a dog (but rules are rules). What is it you would do?? Probably would have been a good idea to ask your neighbor first about laying your pool on her grass. She had no way of knowing it would be for only five minutes, but if you let her know in advance, she might have been cool with it. Assuming she would be fine with it was a mistake. Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved. |

You should have been the adult as a neighbor, knocked on her door, and asked permission. If she said "No", then you could have said " I was hoping you would reciprocate the courtesy that I extend you to ride your mower on my driveway to access your lawn. So...I am hereby advising you not to ever ride your mower on my property again. Is that how we are going to proceed?" Quoting: WHITE GLOVES If she got mouthy, you rise above her and just walk away. Fences make for good neighbors...so ya, get to it. The dog is an innocent soul, so don't be an asshole and violate the laws of love and nature. If she had been agreeable, you could have started a fresh, second-chance relationship. . Probly the best answer, however, if she were a "good" person, she would make her dogs listen and not sit on her butt and holler shut up a dozen times from inside. Not near acting like a good neighbor or doing the Golden rule. I will tape the dogs however, if they bark for 45 min straight (and they do whenever) I will call the cops, cop said to, they will come over and make her take them in. He suggested calling the warden to report added dog, which I am not doing - at least not now. But I wouldnt to her and hers as she has done to us, peace is a wonderful thing! She started off wrong cussing at three people standing around a flat pool cover, not asking what the hell? But oh well, she is the looser -will need to cut down a small tree to get her mower in front yard. If even it will fit. Tape the dogs? Like tape their mouths closed? You are cruel. I like it! |

I'm a dog lover, but have generally found this to be true (see my post above about a neighbor pulling a knife on me and my dog because I supposedly took a pic of his dogs) ... kind of like the dog owners who will let there dog charge at you, then not even apologize for allowing it to happen ... assholes ... I love dogs (in general) , but HATE most dog owners ... they are mostly self-centered ASSHOLES (most dog owners) |

Spray foam all the openings on their vehicles(including trunk and hood), brake calipers and insides of wheels, and then finally spray foam the exhaust pipe. Try to get the foam deep inside(use an extension tube) the exhaust pipe so it can't be seen from the outside. Do this at night so the foam is nice and cured by morning. |

She is wrong to immediately say anything especially cussing you. She could have been nicer about it. I love dogs and have three but I don't let them bark outside and bother others. They stay inside most of the time especially night and hush them up if they start barking for more than a few minutes. It is just common courtesy not subject your neighbors to hearing barking all the time. I don't know how I would handle that part if you have already nicely asked her to control them. I think their is some antibark sensors or something you can put on fence or tree and it will cause them not to bark in that area. Forget what is but, sure you could find it on amazon. I would definitely put up a fence. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9163407 THIS^^ I am old enough to have wisdom...take the long view...don't let this escalate. You are concerned about the cost of that anti-barking device you just researched...well, a fence costs more, even if you install yourself. 1. Check city codes requiring fence heights and placement, or the city will fine you. 2. Identify and confirm property lines. 3. If you can afford it, hire a fence company to install a 5 foot tall cedar post and 5" per picket wide fence (pickets butted together tightly). 4. Purchase arborvitae shrubs and water frequently to grow a fast hedge. The solid fence and hedge will diffuse the dog noise and give you privacy. Peace. |
