Anyone have a natural cure for Strep throat?

I haven't had a sore throat in thirty years.

You should try the garlic first

eat a lot of it

do not drink water for atleast 5 minutes after

let the garlic jit the back of your thoat, it will kill the bacteria on contact


Do the vinegar second


and gargle with salt water third

garlic will kill the strep bacteria on contact


after the garlic, the strep will weaken


than hit it with vinegar


than hit it by gargling with salt water


repeat the next day


once the garlic touches the back of your throat, it will kill the strep bacteria on contact

2 tbs organic apple cider vinegar

1/8 teaspoon pure baking soda

Garlic is definantly a very good nataral medicine... And you should only use it if you don't have any mentally demanding task imediately after taking it as it will temperoraly slow down reaction speed and mental and physical ability.

You could probably steep the garlic in the brags organic apple cider vinegar along with oregano oil or freshly grown oregano...

Olive leaf extract is highly effective against strep. My youngest is a PANDAS kid, which came from me - rheumatic fever 3 times, the first untreated.

We have NO strep problems since we started taking olive leaf extract, and my dd no longer has PANDAS symptoms.

the best way is to give your body time to develop antibodies....so most of the herbal remedies here are good advice, but I will add a couple of others...

No. 1. Selenium available at the health food stores and cheap..

No. 2 Tumeric

No. 3 Organic Garlic, and Oregano..

No. 4 Dried apricots

No. 5 Vitamin C crystals

I like to saute some Garlic 6 to 7 cloves, in butter and olive oil, adding a pinch or two of Oregano, then scamble in some eggs and add a pinch or two of Organic Tumeric - Tumeric is very powerful you only need a little.. ( Then while your eating this take half a tab of Selenium by mouth do this every other day, until it's gone... also Daily gargle with Sea salt in water when there is pain, and drink lots of Organic Apple juice with 1/4 teaspon of Vitamin C disolved in it.. (don't drink grapfruit juice with Tumeric...it will make you sick..) you can take up to 10 grams of Vitamin C a day... but usually when your sick you can't take more than about 5,000 without getting Diarhea...I usually stay at around 1/4 teaspon a day on non sick days,and up it to 5,000 to 7,500 when I have a cold...Apricots are obviously high in Vitamin A, so be careful only a handfull at a time or you'll OD, if you can't find them, dry Vitamin A is good, don't get the fish oil kind, fish have lots of toxic things in their livers now... so it's risky...

don't take Vitamin c in tablet form it's expensive and unless you have a stong stomach it doesnt' break down well,tends to pass right on through, Vitamin C crytals get into your blood stream easiliy..

get as much sleep as possible. Your going to be ok... and developing antibodies so your probably won't catch this strain of step again..

Go to your 24/7 medical care facility there is always one that has to take people even if they can't pay if you live in an urban area, because if it really is strep you will get sicker and sicker. Sometimes, it can even come back after the right treatment for it.

Strep can make you feel like you have already died and have less energy than someone with mono....yeah, that is NO ENERGY.

I have to disagree... I say go natural! There is a better guarantee...

I used this for years to cure strep throat. 1,000 mg of vitamin C with Rose Hips every hour with a full glass of water for up to 8 hours. In 2 hours or less, you'll see that your throat is not hurting nearly as much. After 4-5 hours, you won't have a sore throat at all. But the vitamin C must contain rose hips. Regular vitamin C won't work. It's the rose hips that heal. You will pee out whatever excess vitamin C that doesn't get absorbed. Always drink a full glass of water with each treatment so the excess comes out.

Safe than sorry. Not every sore throat is strep obviously most aren't, but at least read the wiki. Some of the complications, if it really is strep, can last a lifetime and also shorten it.

Hon, how do you know it's strep? Usually they have to culture it to be sure.

We don't have ins and make too much money to get welfare (go figure) We go to a registered physicians assistant. He knows we don't come in unless there's a problem. He always tries to give us prescriptions that are on the inexpensive generic list at Wal-Mart & Target.

If you go to the doctor, make sure they know you don't have insurance. If the doctor wants to run tests, just flat ask, "we don't have insurance, is this necessary?" That should do away with the things they like to do, "just to be on the safe side"

dude, never fuck with strep. I've HAD ruematic fever and trust me it sucks for LIFE. I'll use herbs for everything else, but if I ever suspected I had strep again, I'd be at the doc's so fast I'd leave skid marks. And whoever said taking antibiotics for strep or rhuematic fever makes you more susceptible to strep is lying. All it did for me, was make me ALLERGIC to penicillin and erythmyacin because I had to take so much to kill the rheumatic fever. I've not had strep again since I was 21 and I am nearing 50 now..despite folks around me getting it. I am just extra paranoid about strep..and use high steril practices when anyone close to me gets a sore throat.

The only other time I've taken high does antibiotics was a horrible OMG I am going to die kidney infection. Other than that, it's herbs and potions.

try one of the cayenne concoctions listed above. Sipping it constantly throughout the day may help you get on top of it.

Gargling with hydrogen peroxide can be good too...just make sure with all of these natural remedies that you don't hurt your throat because that will give more traction to the microbes. Alternate with honey even coconut oil if it's easy to come by. Chewing on a fresh coconut might be an alternative and chewing on real twigs of licorice can be very soothing because it has a numbing effect. Both will clean your teeth.

Try not to talk and clean your fingers and your toes really well. Floss carefully and if you can get your hands on a metal tongue scraper that can be really helpful. As your immune is a bit weakened, give it a fighting chance by disinfecting everything you can think of.

Swishing your mouth with oil (anything, but sesame seed oil is great (not the roasted one)) for 10 minutes and spitting it out will help keep your mouth clean.

No sugar!!!! No white bread!!!! Just lots of spicy soups and water.

You can get on top of this yourself, but at the first sign of things getting worse, bite the bullet and get into a clinic somehow.

I'm pretty sure that I'd be gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide straight from the 3% bottle from walmart that cost about 75 cents. Don't swollow. Do it about once an hour. The salt gargle will help too. Take 2 to 4 grams of Vit C a day, as much as you can stand (that's 4 to 8 500 mg tabs or caps). It Will help.

I order antibiotics from California vet supply over the internet. You can get about 4 different kinds, but, not as fast as you need it now, but maybe if you order some, You'll have some for next time you need it, but you shouldn't take antibiotics unless you have to.

Douggie beef injection seems to work for most.

J/k, Belladona and Mercurius are the 2 best to use. Belladonna clears the throat, shrinks swelling, and works like a decongestant.
Mercurius does the same but also fights off the bacteria.
