He would rather us choose to love him freely, and choose the good way instead of forcing us. If we had no free will we would never question anything, we would never learn. Once in heaven we will be free from the influence of evil. If you look to the book of Revelations it points out that God will take all of his disciples into heaven and then he will destroy the world through the Armageddon, thus destroying evil. I can then turn this back on you. What is evil? There is no reason to be moral without a God. By evolutionary and scientific standards we are alive to conquer, be the best we can be by any means possible, pass on our genes, then die. Thus the word “evil” has no meaning. What we would consider evil shouldn’t be bad because its further advancing ourselves, like cheating on a test.

5. Q: why is their pain and death? The fallacy of “its just God’s will”

First of all, God is not the creator of evil and suffering. satan is. God never meant for evil or suffering to happen. He created for us the Garden of Eden. A perfect place but because Adam and Eve chose to eat the fruit off the tree of life and reject God, we were put out into the world where satan and evil is. So what does God say? In John 16:33 he says “I have told you these things, so that in me you have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” So we know that trouble exists but God also is telling us to take comfort in him, he will help us. You can also look to 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” But we may say “God, you just don’t understand.” But look at Hebrews 2:18 “For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” When God sent his son Jesus he felt all the pain and all the temptation that we as normal people do. He was 100% man while being 100% God. Then we can take comfort in Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Religion doesn’t need to “improve” or “clarify” over time because as 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness…” The word of God is perfect so theirs no need for improvement.
