Anonymous Coward User ID: 12339688 United States 07/01/2012 03:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | is your family ok? was worried and thought would check in. Sorry for bugging you. Just worried. Quoting: warriorsbond Thanks for caring! I haven't heard anything back yet. ok. much thanks. Update-- Family just told me people are siphoning gas from people's cars. People are also stealing ice out of ice boxes outside of gas stations. Local police said up to 2 weeks without power. Family is doing okay, they have neighbors that have been through this sort of thing down south. KY ice storm was 10 days with no power for some people. There will always be a few who panick and steal. But overall people usually pull together. Henryville IN tornadoes was a good example. People will come to help just to be kind. Henryville horse farmers received free hay, etc. Humanity has a knack for rising to the occassion. |
Bluebird User ID: 730536 United States 07/01/2012 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hang in there! We were without all that following the tornadoes last year for two weeks. It's not really so bad. You learn to grill food, use solar lights and so forth. But once when we were without for 3 weeks in winter due to ice storm, now that was tougher. But you will be OK. Just adapt and roll with. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Bluebird User ID: 730536 United States 07/01/2012 03:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | soooooooo imagine all of this chaos across the whole west coast or even more states.. thats whats going to happen later this year, the same situation but on a larger scale. people will immediately start looting for gas, food, supplies, and water and there will be no EMS or police because of all the downed communications, the only way will be battery operated walkie talkie Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10005685 Absolutely nothing like that happened when tornadoes wiped out the entire northern third of this state. People helped each other, shared grills to cook, took water and ice to those with no transportation and we were all just fine. Volunteers searched debris and there was very very little looting of any kind. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Don't know about there, but lights flickered, went out, then came back for me in NW Ohio just before the storm. Everything else in this thread lines up with what they've said. MIL said WM @ Summersville has power. She went there. Police directing traffic. Was able to get what she needed. I thought the grid was damaged? I'm not that knowledgeable on power grids. ...or could it have been a solar storm and the storm was created to make it look like it was the storm's fault??
