I guess Elon Musk wasn't around at that time to provide the red car so they had to go with the already known ending for the movie. |
*Siberia* (OP) User ID: 75419129 Romania 11/17/2018 09:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Let's make it more complex: "In certain numerological systems based on the English alphabet, the number 77 is associated with Jesus Christ. CHRIST is C = 3, H = 8, R = 18, I = 9, S = 19, T = 20, which added together equal 77." It can also mean double luck though |

Sir Tim User ID: 77112797 United Kingdom 11/17/2018 09:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nice, highly thought-provoking thread S and hi to you and Yanez. I was thinking about how glitches can be related to the degree of disorder that exists in any given system as a consequence of the second law of thermodynamics; and essentially entropy's arrow of order into chaos. All systems are prone to decay. If we teach a computer to count down a clock from one million years to zero, then we can expect that at some point in-between, the chips will ware, the hard drive tires, leading to skips a 1 or a 0 by accident giving all manor of false readings. We as humans are susceptible too. Indeed, reality itself can be prone to glitches when we imagine the construct of space/time could alter, the speed of light could change given different physics somewhere else in the Universe or even the fundamental laws of mathematics could suddenly decide that 2 + 2 = 5 or 77 = 11 lol. Glitches can also be beneficial though. I was also thinking about how the theory of evolution could be a way for life to learn from its own mistakes, as if life itself is preprogrammed to mend itself by analysing its very own glitches in order to improve upon a flaw in an original design. I suppose a typical glitch could just be defined as being a probabilistic event that can occur at any time really, but to answer what exactly is it? It could be a good glitch or a bad glitch, but of what is its nature? A very good question to ask S. |
Yo Adrian User ID: 71876728 United States 11/17/2018 10:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Soz the question of life. If you can affirm that a glitch actually exist... I say the entire system is a glitch. Quoting: Shawski An entire system can be a glitch reported to another system in which may operate. I'm still wondering about the reasons for witch glitches occur. So... any idea ? "Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas." - George W. Bush (Pulls off mask)"And we would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those meddling Qtards" Klaus S. |

I agree with all the points you made, Sir :-) And i have this question in mind: Can a glitch be seen as a stress-reliever of a system ? or is rather the glitch building the stress in the system so that the system can rearrange and improve upon itself after a stress-reliever event ? Also... thank you :-) Last Edited by ^S^ on 11/17/2018 10:29 PM |

Bee Free User ID: 47497854 United States 11/20/2018 12:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Take your time, love. I’m out of town visiting my daughter for her birthday. Won’t be on the interwebs much next couple of days. Hiking, fishing, and shooting guns in the hill country. Texas shit :) Quoting: Bee Free Enjoy your weekend! First of all: Happy birthday! to you beloved girl and may life bring all the best things on her way Secondly: you have great fun in there, hon I woke up from a strange journey - felt like falling from one dream to another while also being aware of the shared reality of the dream we call real life. And the dreams... one more crazy than the other. But it was fun - so much fun that i want that again ! [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] I need a lot of coffee to clear the mind enough to go on on the topics in here - so i'll come back at them as it may flow. Awww, Sib. You're the sweetest. We had a great time. Thank you I found a little article on the origin of the word glitch. Not a mainstream article, but everything checks out. [link to www.visualthesaurus.com (secure)] After going over the origins and various ways people use the word, I think I'd define 'glitch' as a deviation from an anticipated order. This is neutral enough to allow any given glitch to be evaluated for positive or negative value according to its context. The common definitions of malfunction or error, on the other hand, suggest inherent negativity. I think glitches, or unanticipated deviations, can be beneficial to systems. It's observer-dependent and situational, I suppose. I brought up binary systems before, because a glitch there isn't the same as a glitch elsewhere. Boolean algebra is rigid enough to define glitches within its formal language as problematic. Even if the problem leads to a silver lining in some other system, it is still an error within the confines of that particular system. Two-value Boolean algebra, or true/false propositional logic, is what computer programs use to perform their functions. These systems are not subject to the second law of thermodynamics. That law only applies to isolated systems. We have no actual experience with isolated systems in our reality. They're hypothetical. The systems we observe and collect data on tend to interact with other systems. Some more dependent on outside systems than others. This makes the question of glitches even more complex. I brought up emotions because that system seems to be the least rigid. Paradox (which is also a deviation from anticipated order) is rampant in the world of emotion. People can be sad when they're happy and happy when they're sad. People can find pleasure in pain and pain in pleasure. People can simultaneously experience desire and repulsion over the very same object. Behavioral scientists and philosophers still haven't come to a solid consensus on how these paradoxes are possible. They just know that they are. Truth values cannot be assigned to unbound variables (as is the rule in first-order logic or predicate calculus). Non-local, free variables are undefined and not part of the formal language of logical or mathematical systems. We can't say much about what an undefined variable is or isn't. Keeping that in mind, we see our biological systems are interacting with information operating non-locally in a realm outside time and space. Unbound variables, if you will. This makes defining an anticipated order very difficult. There are not laws so much as patterned tendencies in these kinds of systems. A deviation here does not necessarily translate to error. Deviation is anticipated, though not specified. Google isn't bringing me to any good articles on the science of non-local cellular communication. I have books with the info, though. If I can't find any good sources online, I'll write up the summary and sources myself. Soon, soon. Hope you enjoyed your weekend and had a decent enough Monday! xoxo |
