Its absorption is nearly 100% whereas regular magnesium isn't absorbed enough to really be beneficial. Quoting: President Elect JimmyBones All the Magnesium you buy at the store is basically wasted. I take 2 scoops of Magtein daily. I used to get bad migraines and they didn't stop when I took the pills. When I started Magtein it literally cured me. The fastest way to absorb magnesium and reverse deficiency is through the skin. Magnesium oil is made with Magnesium Choride Just buy a 10$ bag of ancient minerals brand Mg. Chloride Mix some crystals in pure water rub onto the skin if you get any red itchy bumps that is the sign of magnesium deficiency It goes away quickly and MG Oil is the only known way to quickly reverse deficiency Mg. Threonate is good for the brain but expensive great post. Even making mag water, put in spray bottle, and spray your legs and stomach 3 times a day works great to. 1guynAz User ID: 78987609 United States 11/21/2020 11:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been taking 250 mg Magnesium daily (in a complete mineral supplement). The RDA is 400, but I eat at least 3 eggs a day and enough meat that I figure I am good on magnesium. Eggs supposedly have 200 mg of magnesium. One of the rare decent food sources of mg. The Japanese diet is around 40 to 50 times more iodine than the US RDA. They have a much lower incidence of cancer and heart disease than the west, and have a slightly higher IQ on the whole. I take 3 to 4 drops of Dr. Lugol's 2% iodine solution in a glass of water. Before that, I was trying the Polarpure water purifier which has iodine crystals in a little mesh cage inside of a glass jar that holds about 2 ozs of water. Pretty clever device that you fill with water, wait a half hour, in which time it forms a saturated solution, then that couple ounces of water is dumped into a 1 liter water bottle and if you are in the wilderness you leave it sit for a half hour for the iodine to kill any pathogens in it. The Polarpure seemed to be a bit more effective, but not sure why. It was a pain to use though, because of the time needed to saturate the solution, and also the seller quit selling them. So I switched to Lugols which only takes a couple seconds to put the drops into a glass of water. Iodine is a strong oxidizer and it also tends to want to leave the container. So the rubber on the eyedroppers may not last more than a year or 2. (I bought a few spare glass eyedroppers from Amazon to replace them when they go bad.) And whatever you store next to the bottle will get a brown stain on any paper labels. I've been taking it for about 9 years now. Living has taught me one thing; nothing is certain...except salvation through Jesus Christ! |

President Elect Starrynight User ID: 79130660 United States 11/21/2020 11:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He’s right. Basically everyone is magnesium deficient and it helps so many things - muscles, digestion, sleep, mood, vision, cholesterol, headaches, bowel movements, even anxiety and pms. I started taking it and noticed immediate improvement however it was giving me this very odd “bone pain.” I researched it and found that you have to take calcium alongside magnesium because too much of one will leach from the other. Solved my bone pain problem. I also take zinc just because of cold and flu season so I found the perfect supplement - it’s just called CalMagZinc so it has all three in one pill. Comes in different brands. Cathar Sis |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 54132909 United States 11/21/2020 11:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'll share a few things I've discovered that will help improve your health. Quoting: President Elect - Justmeok The Western diet is very deficient in iodine and magnesium. I used to have 20:550 eyesight. Could see close up, but walk 10 ft away and you were just fuzz. Then I hit 45 and lost my adaptive eyesight (the lens becomes rigid and unable to change focal point). Started the iodine to try out a Polarpure water purifier to see how bad the taste was. Made a liter of water with it. Well, it tasted wonderful. So I made another liter of iodine water the next day. It was hot weather and it was so refreshing. After 4 days of doing this, I noticed my brain fog lifted. Polarpure method was a bit of a pain in the but, so I switched to Dr. Lugol's since that involved just putting a few drops into a glass of water. Then I noticed a zinging like pain in the front of my eye every so often. Apparantly that was the lens becoming mobile again. Now I can see up close perfectly, and also my distance vision has gotten way the heck better. The optometrist thought I must had lasik. The amt of iodine I take is roughly the equivalent of what the Japanese get in their seafood rich diet. (The US RDA is far too low, and the iodine in salt is just enough to keep you from developing a goiter). Iodine is water soluble and runs to the sea. Depleted inland areas are referred to as the "goiter belt". The other nutrient we are short on is magnesium. This is vital to heart health. All I can say is take a supplement with the RDA for magnesium. I discovered this when I had a physical and the doc ran an EKG and told me my heart rhythm was screwed up. Was getting PVCs etc. I did a little reading and found that magnesium is essential for a healthy heart beat. Not enough in food unless you eat 10 lbs of meat a day. Started taking a supplement pill. went back to the doc and insisted he redo the EKG. Clean as a whistle, no more PVCs. And I could feel the improvement as well when I exercised. Hope that helps some people. many uses for Iodine... iodine for Radiation poisoning article How to use LUGOL's Iodine Take this medication by mouth as directed. Use the dropper that comes with the bottle to measure the correct dose. To improve the taste, mix the dose in a full glass (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) of water, milk, formula, or juice before taking. To decrease stomach upset, take this medication after meals or with food. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not increase your dose, take it more often, or take it for longer than prescribed or recommended because of the increased risk of side effects. In a radiation emergency, take this drug only when public health and safety officials tell you to do so. Start treatment as soon as possible for the best protection. The length of treatment will be determined by public health and safety officials. [link to www.webmd.com (secure)] |

The stats are showing the older folks getting very ill with Sars-Cov-2 are very low in vit D. If you're not sure get a blood test and find out. I take 2,000 mg a day of D3, the upper limits of recommended supplementation is 4000 mg. There are many types of magnesium, make sure the one you take is helpful to the heart and not just in essence a laxative. I take C, D, Mag, arginine, lysine, taurine and b12 because i'm not a big meat eater. If you have heart issues look into magnesium, coq10 and arginine for circulation help. President Elect - Justmeok (OP) User ID: 76148484 United States 11/21/2020 01:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lots to read. If you are in a hurry, just read this one: Quoting: Terces Egassem Long-term follow-up after acute myocardial infarction in patients randomized to treatment with intravenous magnesium or intravenous propranolol in the acute phase. Were you trying to post links to articles? Because I didn't see any links. LIke this. [link to pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov (secure)] "Abstract Congestive heart failure is characterized by contractile dysfunction and frequent complex ventricular ectopy. Despite advances in therapy, mortality from heart failure is substantial, estimated at 10-80 percent per year, and sudden death is common. Magnesium is the second most common intracellular cation, strongly influences cardiac cell membrane function, and is an important catalyst of many enzymatic reactions in the myocyte. Epidemiological studies have implicated magnesium deficit in the genesis of sudden death. Patients with congestive heart failure are predisposed to magnesium deficit for many reasons, including neurohormonal activation, poor gastrointestinal absorption, and drug therapy. Hypomagnesaemia is common in these patients and has been linked to an increased frequency of complex ventricular ectopy. Several early, uncontrolled studies have suggested a beneficial effect of magnesium administration on ventricular arrhythmias in patients with congestive heart failure. Two recent randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled trials have shown that both intravenous and oral administration of magnesium chloride results in a significant reduction in the frequency and complexity of ventricular arrhythmias in patients with congestive heart failure." Here is your long term follow up article. [link to pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov (secure)] "Abstract Ninety-five patients with acute myocardial infarction were followed up for 6 months to 3 years (mean 25.4 months) in a preliminary study to compare the effects of intravenous magnesium (49 patients) with that of intravenous propranolol (44 patients) given immediately after admission to the intensive care unit. There were four cardiac deaths in the propranolol group and no deaths in the magnesium group (P < 0.046) and 27 per cent of patients who received propranolol subsequently developed cardiac failure as opposed to 12 per cent of those who had received magnesium (P < 0.04). Intravenous magnesium given in the early stages of myocardial infarction reduces the subsequent cardiac death rate possibly by reducing infarct size." Thanks. President Elect - Justmeok (OP) User ID: 76148484 United States 11/21/2020 01:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lots of missing nutrients from most American diets... Quoting: Fred_Flintstone But, taking Mg willy nilly may not help completely. You need to have proper balance of Na:K:Mg:Ca. You must get 4700 mg of K a day (imperative) but it is almost impossible with food alone (even in 'good' foods). This is the starter. But I have found that almost no amount of Na salt will cause you harm if you have it at least 1:1 or 2:1 K:Na (so eat your salty foods, just get potassium with it). Then whole food Vitamin C, eat grass fed beef liver (find a local farmer) about 1x a week, find real vitamin E, and cod liver oil. Round off with some minor other things and you are talking about complete nutrition. :) That's a start....then monitor the remainder of your diet and add in the other missing items (hint, don't take nutritionist and science at face here....do your own research and find out what you truly need with science backing it up). Good Luck! Yes, it seems to be important to have the right amounts of everything that works together. A missing link or preponderance of one nutrient can throw a monkey wrench into the works. You need to have proper balance of Na:K:Mg:Ca. + Vit D for Ca absorption. [link to www.mgwater.com] "ARTHRITIS AND OSTEOPOROSIS Two major health problems, arthritis and osteoporosis, may be caused in part by a magnesium deficiency. When you look at how calcium is absorbed these problems become easier to understand, and often can be controlled through diet. Magnesium is needed for calcium absorption. Without enough magnesium, calcium can collect in the soft tissues and cause one type of arthritis. Not only does calcium collect in the soft tissues of arthritics, it is poorly, if at all, absorbed into their blood and bones. But taking more calcium is not the answer; it only amplifies the problem. In fact, excessive calcium intake and insufficient magnesium can contribute to both of these diseases. Magnesium taken in proper dosages can solve the problem of calcium deficiency. When calcium is elevated in the blood it stimulates the secretion of a hormone called calcitonin and suppresses the secretion of the parathyroid hormone (PTH). These hormones regulate the levels of calcium in our bones and soft tissues and are, therefore, directly related to both osteoporosis and arthritis. PTH draws calcium out of the bones and deposits it in the soft tissues, while calcitonin increases calcium in our bones and keeps it from being absorbed in our soft tissues. Sufficient amounts of magnesium determine this delicate and important balance. Because magnesium suppresses PTH and stimulates calcitonin it helps put calcium into our bones, preventing osteoporosis, and helps remove it from our soft tissues eliminating some forms of arthritis. A magnesium deficiency will prevent this chemical action from taking place in our bodies, and no amount of calcium can correct it." [link to www.bones.nih.gov (secure)] "Vitamin D The body needs vitamin D to absorb calcium. Without enough vitamin D, one can’t form enough of the hormone calcitriol (known as the “active vitamin D”). This in turn leads to insufficient calcium absorption from the diet. In this situation, the body must take calcium from its stores in the skeleton, which weakens existing bone and prevents the formation of strong, new bone." I've tried a few types of magnesium, and MGO is easiest on the body. If it doesn't absorb enough, a bigger dose may help. I find it better than magnesium chloride. Very interesting about the mitral valve prolapse Magnesium is an anti- anxiety and is even recommended for pregnant mothers going off their anti-anxiety meds for pregnancy and lactation periods I read about a study done long ago Fatal heart attack victims had low magnesium blood levels upon autopsy They don’t know whether the lie magnesium caused the heart attack or the heart attack caused low magnesium Why take a chance ?
