Actually, it is not their property. Landlords are literally the modern feudal lords of old times, just managing the King's land on behalf of the King. The land and the dwelling is owned by the legal jurisdiction that the property transfer was "recorded" (aka registered....REGIS....KING) with. So true. Tenants tend not to have a clue the sheer amount of work which goes into rentals or any house. After 40 years the initial investment goes down to zero and the house tends to need immense rebuilding, new heating, roof, paint, gutters, etc etc etc, gardens, etc etc. And then all the taxes etc, rent freezes, what a joke LOL. Stockmarket is a better option as many are finding out.

That's the reason that the original plan for America was that everyone should own their own land, houses, and businesses.

I realize that there were banks and landlords and corporations trying to undermine that all along, but Americans were supposed to be vigilant and jealous of their property and businesses. Any government effort and regulations should have been to preserve the independence of communities, through the promotion of small businesses, small farms, and local communities.

People take better care of their property when they own it and they have no other options. They can't just run away to another place or go to a shelter. Smaller, more independent communities are reluctant to welcome outsiders until they have proven themselves.
