Quoting: Phennommennonn Far from being an obscure health food with dubious healing qualities, new research has shown the honey kills every type of bacteria scientists have thrown at it, including the antibiotic-resistant “superbugs” plaguing hospitals and killing patients around the world. Scientists found that Manuka honey, as it is known in New Zealand, or jelly bush honey, as it is known in Australia, killed every bacteria or pathogen it was tested on. It is applied externally and acts on skin infections, bites and cuts. The findings are likely to have a major impact on modern medicine and could lead to a range of honey-based products to replace antibiotic and antiseptic creams more [link to wakingtimes.com] Thx 4 the info. Will try it. |

Two creatures I really admire............. bees and that wonderful big rodent, the North American beaver. |

I recently picked up a book from the local library which talked about all the uses of Honey. The females of Egypt used the Honey for smooth skin also. I have been eating local honey for about a year or more. I use it a few times per day for energy and overall good health. Anyone with allergies should use a local honey. The bees will collect from flowers in the local area and once humans eat the honey they build up resistance from the pollen that is making them sick. The Egyptians had many ways to heal the body such as energy rods and many things we have never been told about. That is why they are always vilified and called evil. TPTB does not want people looking into Egyptian technology or the way they used nature to cure the body. One thing I do every morning that is very easy. Mix a table spoon of local honey with Cayenne Pepper, Cinnamon, Turmeric, with hot water. I like to make a cup anytime I get hungry or need extra energy. Peace to all Cool! Thanks for the link! WE only know what we have been told. Everything TPTB tells us is BS. We need to rediscover the past and ways to heal the human body, mind and soul. We have been brainwashed by white coat drug dealers who are also brainwashed into using chemicals on a natural body of ATOMS. aka Adam. Chemicals cause our Atoms to vibrate out of sync with nature. This causes illness and death. Peace to all Amy |

It prevented all pustiles [PUS] blood filled bumps, and any more spreading of the rash. Yes, I still had the pain, but the Manuka helped. It's a great "medicene." *********************** |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12503481 United States 03/14/2012 01:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Old news. Honey has been known by almost every culture to be of medicinal value. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11754607 Only Americans are ignorant of it. Just take your sugar pills and listen to the Govt. According to my grandmother the military even used it for wounds as late as WWI before antibiotics. When I was a kid she used to use it on our burns & scrapes all the time. She insisted on dark, raw honey. So when I got bit by a brown recluse I used it after surgery on the wound that was all the way to the bone much to the shock of my dr. I didn't even fill his prescription for the antibiotics and the salve. He warned me I would get an infection for sure due to size & depth of wound if I used honey & not his prescriptions. I went to a local beekeeper and got the darkest, raw, unfiltered honey I could. I didn't get an infection & within a few months even the scar was gone. So I think other honey works also but just needs to be raw, dark, unfiltered honey. Could it be big pharma & their scientists want us to think that only their medi-honey works so they can corner/control market? Maybe their medi-honey works best but I think other dark honeys do work! It did for me. Not advocating going against your doctor like I did. I'm just stubborn like that and sometimes grandma knows best. |

Wait until the hot liquid is much cooler, then add the honey. |

Wait until the hot liquid is much cooler, then add the honey. True, that. Is valid also for lemon juice, garlic and raw ginger. People kill the good in those things when they pour boiling water over them thinking they're making a 'tea'. Warm to semi-hot is good; anything over semi-hot will likely kill the enzymes and render the food just food (i.e., substance and taste), not medicine (i.e., nutritional value). |
