Rv.22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last...I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I'm thinking he knew Judas' heart when he showed lack of appreciation for Jesus' love; Accordingly Jesus, six days before the passover, arrived at Beth′a‧ny, where Laz′a‧rus was whom Jesus had raised up from the dead. 2 Therefore they spread an evening meal for him there, and Martha was ministering, but Laz′a‧rus was one of those reclining at the table with him. 3 Mary, therefore, took a pound of perfumed oil, genuine nard, very costly, and she greased the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet dry with her hair. The house became filled with the scent of the perfumed oil. 4 But Judas Is‧car′i‧ot, one of his disciples, who was about to betray him, said: 5 “Why was it this perfumed oil was not sold for three hundred de‧nar′i‧i and given to the poor people?” 6 He said this, though, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief and had the money box and used to carry off the monies put in it. 7 Therefore Jesus said: “Let her alone, that she may keep this observance in view of the day of my burial. 8 For YOU have the poor always with YOU, but me YOU will not have always.” Jo12:1 |

If he did have free will (was fully Human), then it wasn't predestined. But either way, Jesus knew he would do it. And either way, it was sinful. Either way, he receives punishment (or loses the reward, soul salvation) for it. I'm not sure if suicide would be a proper atonement for what he did, but I doubt it because suicide is violence against the Self (the great commandment is "love God, Others, and Self"). So bottom line is, Judas was a very violent, hateful man. And he was unable to experience the joy of love. |

Besides, you totally ignored discussing the info presented and instead, criticized the narrator. Whether or not she "got" the message of the scripture, either the original in the Tanakh or the sermon on the mount in the NT, is besides the point. “If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you." - Job 12:7,8 "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." - Hunter S. Whether or not she "got" the message of the scripture, either the original in the Tanakh or the sermon on the mount in the NT, is besides the point. I would remind the narrator of this; "that you might command certain ones not to teach different doctrine, nor to pay attention to false stories and to genealogies, which end up in nothing, but which furnish questions for research rather than a dispensing of anything by God in connection with faith. Really the objective of this mandate is love out of a clean heart and out of a good conscience and out of faith without hypocrisy. By deviating from these things certain ones have been turned aside into idle talk, wanting to be teachers of law, but not perceiving either the things they are saying or the things about which they are making strong assertions." 1Ti1:1 Last Edited by DGN on 04/03/2012 10:00 PM |
