There are essentially 3 types of people in the religous or religous philosophical realm.

The true God believers: They follow a strict set of religous rules and adhere to them faithfully. this type is rare but does exist.

The straddlers: They have a foot in each camp and comprise the majority of all people. They are obedient to most of the tenets of a religous belief but will stray into areas of sin based on weakness, desire, or some other philosophy that may compell or tempt them.

1) In this context, obviously, agnosticism means: the belief that the truth of claims about the existence or non-existence of a diety, aren't known and are unknowable.

This is because we can't scientifically test God, or observe God. With "God" it's only loud humans telling us all about God or what God "told" them or how they've personally experienced God.

With cults, we can very easily observe them and determine to our own satisfaction, that we believe they are probably false.

For instance, I love Mormonism because it's the only cult that has been empirically proven to be false, because they say some tribe of Israelites came to the Americas and that's where we get Native Americans from.
Sadly for them, we can now do genetic tests and prove that they weren't related to the Israelites...so we know their "holy" book is built upon lies.

But that does not mean we know for a fact there isn't a God, just that the Mormon cult is false.
Mormonism is not a "deity".
Scientology is not a "deity".




2) I can admit that even that is just my belief, constructed with the use of fallible human senses. Maybe, somehow, in some mind-bending way that I can't even comprehend with my finite human mind, Mormonism and/or Scientology are true. I totally 100% do NOT believe that...but we can't truthfully know anything, so in reality, I just really, really, really, strongly with all my heart and mind, believe it. But, being a finite human, I could be wrong about everything. There was a time that humans used valid scientific observation to "know" for an indisputable "fact", that the Earth is flat and stationary, and the sun revolves around the Earth...'cause, look at it. We're not moving, the horizon is flat, and you can clearly track the movement of the sun every single day!

So of course we have to function using what passes for knowledge, just to live on Earth, and on that level, we can "disprove" the claims of a cult, of people...so their "God" is probably composed of malarky, but that doesn't mean there can not, be a "God".

I believe in God. I consider myself a Christian. I have however, come away from Religiosity.

I saw so many folks struggling with sin. These folks needed to know that there was a power greater then themselves, that there was unconditional love for ALL Sinners, and that God loved them. Yet, time after time, they heard judgmental Christians telling them they were sinning and they were going to hell.

I had been deeply involved in ministry. I begin to notice that some Christians are the nastiest, most hateful people in the world.

In studying the bible I could never find a place where Jesus told people they were going to hell. Lets take the woman at the well, for instance. Jesus could have said, "You are a whore, who is going to hell! Repent so you will be with me in paradise!"

No, he discerned, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, what was going on with her. He kindly told her, that she was trying to fill the hole in her heart with "men" and relationships when what she needed was relationship with HIM.

Then he walked away, he didn't say, "This is your last chance! Repent."

People are in these suits of flesh, until the day we die the best Christian amongst us will be tempted.

I recently studied the Jewish teaching on the 13 attributes of Mercy. Some of the judgmental ones here, need to look them up and do the study. Moses was given these at the time he received the "tablets." Over and Over again they speak of God's mercy. The 10th or 11th one is interesting in that God tells Moses that there is punishment, but after punishment is Mercy. These 13 attributes are still recited on special Jewish Holiday.

Some of you act as if you never sin. You need to quit talking love and start showing love. You need to learn that God is merciful.

Judgment sounds ugly and it looks ugly, and it gives God a bad name. You catch the fish, and let HIM clean them up.

I could go on and on. I could talk about all these ministers who live like royalty, while their congregation is made to feel guilty for not tithing. My thought on that? If they have such faith themselves, they would take the tithes one month out of the year and divide them amongst the congregation, and then try living on FAITH themselves.

Went for Agnostic.. but dunno now.. could be Athiest.. other, spiritual, or if I think there's a God.. it wouldn't be the 'religious God.' Have seen a young blue skinned young man on a train who looked like Vishnu (not made up, even other passengers saw him sitting there for a few moments), but was it God? or who or what was it. I wasn't the only.. witness. I can't stand religion, & not hot on athiests anymore either.
Best to be in a ready fluid state of flux, universally openminded to any probabilities that present themselves, without restriction of fixed belief systems in material sensory view points. Spiritual energy is real & open, curved, fractal, luminious & effervescent in nature, full of conscious love & creativity. Matter is merely just this same energy slowed right down, folded into fractal geometric toriod shapes which constantly spring between 2 states within fixed electric/magnetic/gravity & repulsion fields around us.
Part of our lower spiritual 'being' is trapped/interacting within biological states & matter, forced in mind distractions, eye/ear candy, taste-smell & most of all.. Pain! Pain & fear keeps us dark & trapped, esp: emotional & physical pain. I've tried Bhuddist techniques to overcome pain with 'limited' success, but not sustained success tho'.

The thing that bugs me though.. is that when a person loses their mind.. alzhiemers, stroke, dementia, mental illness etc.. are they just merely losing their memory/functionality with the material physical world.. powerless to stop it.. but aware of it? Is the 'soul' or whatever it is.. an empty energy chamber without memories, perception, feelings & conscious awareness till it reacts with bio-material senses, including the mind-brain? Are our souls just zombied in the 'spiritual world' waiting for a 'programme' to run, so the soul can interact with it? Or maybe all 'souls' are clones of the same source, but each soul is uniquely 'tweeted' to operate at a diffrent set of frequency ranges within spiritual & material waveforms.
What struck me about Vishnu-Krishna.. was this character's ability to be infinitely (like a fractal), osscilate everywhere & in everyone (or part of himself?) at the same time. Spiritual realm would have no space & time, except whatever soul-mind generated in it's imagination or memory. Create your own virual 3D geometric world in whatever frequency density one wishes, add time/space to slow down energy into matter.. create 'anything/anyone/anything' one wishes for.. just as in a dream or mind image, not 'physically' real as in our material dense realm. Realm ought to be thought of as without space, time, borders.. or anything else defined. Just is.. Energy sits & waits around waiting for a conscious mind to command it. I'm leaning towards the existence of a supreme Godhead..simply cos.. 'Who made all this anyway?!'
