In the day spoken of in Zechariah 12. following on toward the end of chapter 13 we read, "Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man [that is] my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones."; is this not Jesus the Christ of God? Is he not the shepherd that was smitten of his friends and of God? Therefore Zechariah 12 is to be spiritually discerned in light of that spoken of in Zechariah 13, namely, Jesus the messiah. (was not every nation gathered together against Christ at his appearing and Jerusalem after his death? It is fulfilled. |
