Anonymous Coward User ID: 27908590 Germany 11/17/2012 01:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Information on the Gog Magog war in the Bible if anyone is interested. This floored me in how some of this seems to be happening right now! Quoting: XanaduDWI [link to www.lasthour.com] If this were that war, the United States and Britain would sit out. Which, we are so far. The way I see it, we could expect Russia, Iran and a slew of other Arab nations would jointly attack Israel. Time will tell... Russia didn't get involved in 2008, didn't get involved in 2000, so why would they now? If Iran gets somehow involved in this (They already are indirectly), then so will Russia and China. You can be damn sure of that. People are not joking here when they talk about the prospect of WW3. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4214446 United States 11/17/2012 02:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bottom line: Quoting: ISO If Netanyahu was serious about removing Hamas, the IDF would be: 1>Prepared for a long bloody war in Gaza lasting a year or more. 2>Not be wishy washy about whether or not a ground op is required 3>talking to world leaders about their stupid opinions which are as enlightening as fortune cookies 4>Sitting outside Gaza for 3 days watching nothing happen. Ground op not happening. It's a bluff, and Hamas called Netty on it to be honest. Netty is gonna wind up looking soft here. What on earth are you talking about? 1) Considering the Gaza is THE most heavily armed terror hub in the world, with the most densely populated civilian & terror infrastructure funded by billions of dollars from Iran, KSA, Qatar, Turkey, MB in Egypt... a YEAR long Israel ground operation would cost Israel 10-20 billion of dollars alone (not counting the longer-term psychological, demoralizing aspect). For a tiny, 1st world high-tech nation that is beyond UNACCEPTABLE. 2) You've got it compltely upside-down: No Israeli government would surprive even a 2-3 month long war -- unless it was the BIG one meaning taking out Iraninan nukes, Syrian chemical WMD stocks or if Egyptian army were to roll into Sinai uninvited. 3) You're thinking (military, dimplomatic, geo-political) reality is simple. It's is NOT. It's incredible complex & risky, esprcially in that part of the world. The Gaza/Palestinian terror build-up has been NEGLECTED by almost 20 year rule by the Left-wing Labor & Kadima parties (doing the bidding of their masters in Washington DC, Brussels, London, Paris, Ryadh, Doha and Dubai, of coursE). The reason why IDF has "wasted" 3 days on the outskirts of Gaza is not because Netanyahu is stupid or because he doesn't want to strike quickly and thus retain element of surprise.... No, it's because this operation is designed as multi-stage, multi-tiered --- in response to incresinly more sophisticated challenged of modern, urban-based warfare. IDF did catch Hamas with their pants down Wednsday morning, but within a few hours, the element of surprise went away as Israel knew it would. And remember, it also takes a while to call up reserves & equipment, WITHOUT spooking or telegraphic it to Gaza terror groups --- certainly in an era of cable internet, satellites, Iphones with high-res digital cameras, Twitter, etc. That's just asking too much of IDF -- or even a superpower like the US military, for that matter! 4) Netanyahu also understand that he is operating in very dangerous waters politically. And it's not just the usual suspects that want to his downfall at any cost -- Morsi, Erdogan, Iranian Mullahs, Soros -- but even his "friends" like Obama, Cameron, Merkel would stick a knife in his back the first real chance they get. If that's not enough while the internal opposition has been respecting the war-time unity in Israel, you already are seeing Commies from Zahava Gallion, Yair Lapid to Ben-Eliezer starting to ever-so-daftly criticize the operation -- and it's only been 3 days, LOL. Remember, the 2009 Castlead op, IDF didn't even try to go in until after a WEEK of ariel operations. Of course George Bush was still in office, so Israel had way more international leeway (and still got the libelous trash that was Goldstone Report as "thanks"!!! the irony) |
