You assume in this scenario that the members of the armed forces will be convinced to attack their fellow citizens. I don't share that assumption. In fact, I have just the opposite assumption.

TPTB need people to fly those planes and drive those tanks. They need minions to kill fellow citizens. I don't believe that they will have the needed forces that are willing to turn on their own fellow citizens.

I may be wrong, but I have faith that many if not most military members would join the fight against the government if it got to that point.

You dont need that many to do the deed, you simply need enough manpower to cut off access to power and supplies. After a week or two all resistance will effectively be over.
