Anonymous Coward User ID: 24011342 United States 12/07/2012 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | From my understanding as a Christian I see it that God who controls what knowledge you have. Some knowledge is hidden from you at some time, so that you are prevented from doing things that may hurt you. I found this to be true when studying digital logic design (the parts about synchronous state machines). It really doesn't matter what the topic of study is...I am just saying that God can block you from learning something...or He can impart knowledge to you...whether you are interested in learning it or not. The best Biblical example I can give of this is King Nebuchadnezzar. He got proud...God took away Nebuchadnezzar's mind for seven years. At the end of those seven years...God gave Nebuchadnezzar his sanity back. I believe that is found in Daniel 4. Sorry for those who don't believe...but, whether they believe it or not...God controls the knowledge you have...regardless of how curious or intellectually capable you are as a person. |

Often it was a nun. They were scary as hell. But the time was spent learning, reading and listening to interesting stuff. I listened. As a child I believed the god parts too. The same education and training they gave me lead to an understanding of the truth that was not allowed in a catholic school. I am what my teachers made me. I learned what they offered me. Reading was my ticket to the universe. My sixth grade teacher started every day with a new question. What would you do if the sun did not come up tomorrow? What would you do if the school lunch made us all very sick? What would you do if a bird started talking to you? Later in the day we would all share what we thought. A whole year of that! It created the me I am today. That very year, we started having drills when the air raid siren went off. I was too fat a child to get under the desk. The other kids laughed at me. My Teacher, Mr. Kuntz got down on his hands and knees and sat beside me as "we died." Before he got up he said that I just needed to make sure wherever I went I dug a big hole for myself. I have spent my life always being prepared and ready for myself, my family and my friends. I may not be smart. But I am ready and willing to help out when needed. Also there are many tricks or training exercises you can use to help reduce the learning curve. Largely it comes down to awareness, as the more aware you are the easier it is to understand. Some of these tricks help you to become more aware or help you learn to speed read, math tricks, eidetic memory, etc. Other then that, mostly reading, watching lectures and practicing etc. To become more aware, practice holding as many senses as you can at one time. Distinguish the sounds you hear and single them out, the smells, the taste in your mouth, the feel of the cloths on your skin. Analyze as much detail of your surroundings as you can, look for items or people out of place or that may be dangerous. Practice a little at first as it can be draining or tiring. But in time you become hyper sensitive to your surrounding. Warning that drippy faucet will drive you insane if you don't get a good handle on the skill. ;) |
