You can do it. Day three is usually the worst. Make sure someone knows were you are and atleast tell them your sick, ie flu, at minimum. If you can get to day 5 thats when the body starts to suffer less, but thats also when you realize that you just went through something truly difficult. It's like a major blow to your life force. Remember not to worry about how and why so much and don't be ashamed!

I wonder if OP made it because the 1st days are the hardest when kicking any kind of drug. Your reason why to quit has to be more important than your reason why you use. You use because you are not rite inside and your soul is begging to be released for its full potential.

Quitting for a job does not seem like a good enough reason why and you will have other personal issues to deal with if and or when you get clean.

In any event, it is about manning up and stop whining because you have chills or are sick. You have made your bed and now you have to sleep in it because this is your Karma. Without pain, you will never gain.

No, you are wrong. Heroin withdrawal is seldom fatal, but alcohol is WAAAAAAAY worse to kick.

An alcoholic will take 30 days of sickness and no sleep to kick the habit and heroin addict can kick it in a few days to a week.

I have been there many of times i feel for your my final time kicking the habit i withdrew in a coma so it made it alot easier. stick with it and kick it

Find a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Folks will have good advice. Any community medical detox places in your area. Might have some Meds that would take the edge off. And if it's any consolation, heroin is physically less dangerous to kick than heavy alcohol. Alcohol detox often comes with seizures.

Why don't you see if you can get a doctor to prescribe you Suboxone? It's not a magic pill but will take away the cravings and give you a chance to cut old ties, break old habits, and get your life together.

I kicked a Methadone habit with it and have it better now than I've ever had in my life. I only take 1mg-2mg Suboxone a day and that's enough to keep me on track. If you're eligible for Medicare and Medicaid it will pay for your doctor visits and your script will only cost you a small co-pay. A script of 30 strips costs me $6.50 and one 8mg strip lasts me about a week.
