Sometimes no. Sometimes poor people make a poor decision because they have to. They dont have all the same options.

I agree.. ball players/sports people/actors/actresses/politicians/Singers/performers etc all get paid way too damn much.. We don't need to be entertained that damn badly. We do however need people who care for our children and elderly and for our safety and these folks should be our high paid people..not F'N entertainers. I quit going to and supporting sporting events due to the insane amt that these folks get..same with movies etc. If we quit going/watching then they wont make the money. Its our support of it that keeps it going.

As do the orderlies, LPN's, RN's and hospital support staff.

You will never convince me that a guy chasing a ball around is worth anywhere close to what they pay them.

As for giving up salary, I have turned down raises in order to better the wages of those that work with me.

I have the power and I yield it fairly, unlike some.

On the contrary, knowing how to run a business as I do, I would know the going rate for all my employees and offer the most qualified more money for their skills...that way I have the best people in their fields working for me and blow the competition out of the water...just like I do in all my current businesses...now what socialist idiot?

Very true, and even the skilled employees are S.O.L. when it comes to highly trained nurses taking care of way too many patients when recent studies prove that any RN taking care of more than 4 patients is risking the lives of each additional patient she/he cares for by 30%!!! Death and serious infection rates are higher the more patients nurses have.

Most hospitals do not account for this and do not care. They need the Jag- the multi million dollar homes etc. I am working on my masters now so I can grow older without breaking my back and winding up disabled because of a lack of co-workers and support. I'm getting too old to be working the way they expect us too for 12 hours, no lunch breaks etc.

I also just had to move on because healthcare is getting bad, and I don't want to be a part of it anymore. I will say I was blessed with decent nurses for the most part during my several hospital admissions this past yr after a car crash.

Regardless, no matter where you are, it will benefit you greatly to have someone with you who can watch your back for you while you can't during your hospital stay. My husband was the best, and made sure I was always safe.

Preparedness isn't just food, guns and ammo, but in education!! Know your body, know your local hospitals how many patients nurses care for on telemetry units, med/surg, ICU etc. if you are to have an elective surgery. Have people wash their hands before touching you, know what medicines you are being given. If you can't have someone with you who can ask these questions.

My point is, they could stand to trim the fat , instead of coming up with an insulting idea. Or if they cannot afford to, then get a new plan. It sounds like this idea just didnt go through people for approval.
