I live in Tennessee. My wife is a public school teacher here. I have three children in public schools.

Just pointing this out for, you know, perspective.

Let's try and work your issues out. You say that we are "scared shitless." I have to wonder about someone like you. How can you turn on your television and see the tragedy that happened in Connecticut and not be concerned for the safety of your child?

Do you realize that this isn't the first mass murder at a school? Do you think these things will mysteriously go away?

Or is your solution to simply say "Wow, you guys are scared. Do like me and just put your head in the sand!"

All the crazies are really upset about gettin out-crazied by this gunman, this is what keeps them going, the dream of one day being able to shoot someone in self defense, or a group of people , in self defense.

This is really just living out their own psycho dreams of getting to shoot someone, albeit under the pretense of self defense.

Instead of throwing some insults back your way, I just have a couple of questions...

If your wife is the one that makes a mistake and shoots some kid, how will she justify it? What if your teachers kid snaps and shoots one of yours? Is it still a good law when your kid is the one in the casket?

How many laws have been passed, due to a reaction to a crisis or fear have worked out well?
