First problem, you don't look at the secret society rich guy influence on religious institutions(and every other aspect of life) and how they use religion to justify wars and to make religions look bad at the same time. How they are also in control of what is taught in the churches. Second, you can only see things as a human. It won't change your opinions, just you have the wrong reasons for your positions. Anonymous Coward User ID: 31122956 United States 01/04/2013 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's so simple to understand why somebody is an atheist, For instance you probably look at Gods like Zeus or Odin or many of the other countless Gods mankind has invented throughout history and dismiss them as being untrue because they are simply "myths" or maybe it's just because you believe your God to be the one true God which is a very biased claim to make in the first place, for instance the word you call God now was mistranslated from the word Elohim which is plural and stood for "Many gods" Not one so even there your bible is wrong, i mean many cultures throughout time have had many Gods and you don't believe in them so no Atheist needs to believe in yours either it's as simple as that, most religions are based off Sumerian tablets anyway including your bible, And Sumerian tablets are a lot more logical and less supernatural than the bible, and it doesn't exactly depict us as being special in any way since according to them we were the product of alien DNA manipulation to create a slave race, i mean they even have the story of Noah just with a few twists for god sake. Quoting: Armesis So my answer is this, i'm an atheist for the same reason you don't believe in other Gods. (I don't completely dismiss something that intervened in human evolution, or the possibility of God to some extent but in my mind the possibility of God existing is about 1%) ^^^THIS^^^ I'm an atheist too, but I was first raised in a evangelical pentacostal church/school through 5th grade. Then I was sent to a fundamental baptist school until I graduated. Then I went to a presbyterian college. Then I realized what a bunch of bullshit it all was. Then I started studying other things, like the occult, where I learned about the kabbalah and how it relates to the Torah. Then I started learning some Hebrew so I could try to make sense of the book of Genesis. Then I learned about the word 'Elohim'. And somewhere along the way, among other things, I stumbled across Genesis 3:22. Dear bible thumpers: please turn to Genesis 3:22 and read it. Read it and then re-read it. Wipe your eyes, then read it again. Scratch your head. Check the verse again, just to make sure you read it correctly. Put down the KJV and see if it says the same thing in the NIV. Throw away the NIV and pick up the original Hebrew text. No matter which translation you use, you're going to encounter the same problem: YOUR OWN BIBLE SAYS THAT GOD IS SEVERAL ENTITIES. Genesis 3:22a - And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil: Checkmate, you lose. What you've been calling "god" all this time is actually a group of beings called the Elohim. They are creators, much the same way that humans have become creators. In a manner of speaking, they were scientists. They weren't all holy and they weren't all evil. They aren't gods in the sense that they rule the universe. They are only gods in the sense that they made you. And when artificial intelligence ("life") comes into prominence, humans will be its god(s). But it's a semantic argument. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 31122956 United States 01/04/2013 10:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As an additional bonus, I'll clue you all in on one other little tidbit. Some of you are already aware that the Skull & Bones Society has a special affection for the number 322. You might even recall Tim Russert (RIP) asking George W. Bush about Skull & Bones before the 2000 election, and he specifically asked him about the number 322. Oh hell, here, I'll even provide a clip of it: Russert: "You were both in Skull and Bones, the secret society." GWB: "It's so secret we can't talk about it." Russert: "What does that mean for America? The conspiracy theorists are going to go wild." GWB: "I'm sure they are! I don't know, I haven't seen the webpages." Russert: "Number 322?" At which point, Bush COMPLETELY CHANGES THE SUBJECT. Well folks, you heard it from me first: The reason Skull & Bones special number is 322 is because they understand the significance of Genesis 3:22. I don't want to spoil the surprise. Since I know all you christian bible-thumpers out there have a bible handy, just stop thumping it for a second and go take a look at Genesis 3:22b, which will further explain why it is so important to them. /sermon |
Armesis User ID: 14386601 United Kingdom 01/04/2013 01:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ^^ This ^^ Excellent example there of the meaning of Elohim, i have always believed the Elohim were a race no different from us, as you said Scientists from another world, it doesn't exclude the possibility of spirituality and the godliness we all have inside of us, but the one true God bullshit that has been fed to them is all a lie. If we create intelligent lifeforms with emotions, would we not then be the Gods of the creation? Each day our godliness rises, our technology advancements allow us to do what we believe is impossible, and one day we will know the truth about our existence but throwing away the quest to true knowledge in exchange for believing in a God and treating yourself like a slave to him in worship is stupid, rise up my brothers and sisters, realize the true power within every one of you. We are Gods, just like the Elohim were our Gods and we should be thankful that they gifted us with life. Armesis The Extraterrestrial |
