I highly doubt they're THAT suicidal.

The only way that the North Koreans could effectively attack the USA is a submarine based EMP weapons launched offshore in USA international waters. In that case, the antiballistic missles would have difficulty being counter launched in time. Launching a missile from NK to the US doesn't seem plausible. It is plausible that they have a satelite in orbit with EMP capability and could do that as well. However that probably would be intercepted by US Space Command.

For real real... since when is it NOT under martial law? I mean the definition of Martial Law is - Military Government suspending ordinary law.

North Korea is a shit hole up and down.

The social and economic problems are unreal.

I have 15 bucks in my pocket and I am unemployed... But i have food, shelter, heat, internet, TV... I am considered poverty... I would be considered Elite in North Korea... Anytime I feel sorry for myself I try to think of the conditions in North Korea.

The government steals all the food and rations out meager portions that barely keeps the people alive.

They wake up each day and hear a prerecorded message from their beloved leader telling them its an good day and that they need to work... they jump up and work in the mud.

North Korea by our means is under Martial Law constantly...

The government tells me what to think, what to do, and when to do it... on a daily basis... but the government considers this 'free will'



If their everyday life is what we consider martial law...

now just imagine what the NK government calls Martial law

They are declaring martial law because they intend to test fire a missile in the direction of the United States...

Which under normal circumstances might elicit a response but considering who is running things now it's unlikely the USA will do a damn thing..

lets put it like this... in hypothetical metaphoric Dr. Acula logic... the best way i can describe North Korean is....

Let's say since Birth I would wake up and my father would smile Tell me he was the greatest father on earth

I was the greatest son on earth

and told me he loved me more than any other father...


then we would bash my head in with a stick... Then send me out to the fields to work. If I stopped working he would smile and hit me again.

Finally after a long hard day... My father would tell me he loved me and give me 30 grains of rice and kick me as i walked past him.

My father would constantly remind me that no other father would be as kind to me, and that the other fathers out there were mean and didnt love their children at all... and only wanted to hurt them.

lets say i got older and heard rumors that my life was horrible... my father would just say... it was all lies meant to trick me... meant to hurt me... then i would be bashed in the head again for my own protection against such evil lies...

If i had grown up from that sorta life and didnt know any other life... how would I know that was wrong?

even if i suspected it was wrong I better play along... cos my father is a fucking psychopath and will surely kill me

to me that would be a father son relationship... everyday normal life...

But lets say one night my father imposes Fathers Law... I am locked in my room not allowed to leave... told not to look out the window or die!
i get no food no nothing... no bathroom breaks... no anything...
because my father just flipped the fuck out and is threatening to kill the neighbors... if my father thinks i even looked out the window i am gonna be killed...

that is how north korea and its people live... that is their relationship...


It is fucking horrible... I can only imagine how bad it is right now... under martial law... its sad... it really really really is sad... the horrors they are facing at this moment is beyond 'hell on earth'

North Korea is the most unstable nation on the planet with a huge military poised above ground across the DMZ, with troops in underground bunkers and has tunneled under the DMZ, has nuclear capability, etc. They are a total wild card. Literally anything could happen, because their economic situation is very tenuous and they're starving. It's only a matter of time before a coup happens.

Meanwhile we have a weak President in the USA. We have a lame duck South Korea leader. We have Japan and China saber rattling.

You have to ask yourself, what would be the downside of North Korea invading South Korea from their perspective? It's a matter of brinksmanship. I personally doubt that Obama would launch first, for that's not the current nuclear doctrine. That puts the USA in a response mode of waiting while an invasion takes place. South Korea could not repel the North Koreans in all honestly unless the USA also engaged.
