Quoting: Tombfly 1577203 [link to www.slate.com] Heat and velocity. It is like a hot knife cutting thru butter. The meteor exploded in the stratsophere. They say it took like 6 mins for the sonic boom to reach the ground. The leftover debris is what hit places like the frozen lake. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1266452 I mean, no one gave a huge amount of warning to Russia yesterday. We're okay with it. in 3 months when a city gets destroyed, we'll be conditioned to not question if after the last 24 hours. ...Catch my drift? What´s more annoying is the fact that they really want to make us believe the "coincidence" of the strike, how high are the odds for that happening on the same day? 1 in 76312576312 That's if you're going off the figures from 100,000 known asteroids. how did you get that number? |

Or Turn something like Magnesium, or Titanium, into a NANO particle. And use it in a Fuel/Air explosion? I believe that once Magnesium, or Titanium starts to burn, it does not need Air, it will burn under water? Christobal User ID: 25509968 United States 02/15/2013 03:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think that it is fairly safe to take significant notice of the timing of this event. The odds against such an event occurring randomly ( that is, without special direction) and at this rather ominous point in time considering the expectancy surrounding 2012 DA14, are seemingly, ahem, er, 'astronomical'. The magnitude of the Russian event is unique- in terms of human casualty (injuries) and property damage- in recorded history. To think that this supreme rarity coincided naturally in time with the arrival (roughly) of a separate, long observed space rock ( thus magnifying the strangeness) is more than difficult. I therefore submit that it is decidedly easier to accept the notion that the Russian 'meteor' was a purposeful display of control/power by an outside entity (entities) meant as a clue of sorts...an indication to those paying attention that the time of times is at hand. Nothing new age per se, or mystical . Just cold and thick and hard reality taking on a more pronounced universal flavor profile, and old, stubborn humanity finally taking notice of things. If the situation as it has occurred remains unchanged for the rest of the day, then all of this conjecture will remain such and the main idea will stay theory. If, however, something new takes place (third strike?) in a timely fashion, the ideas contained in this post shall be enough proved for my liking. |

Astronomers around the globe didn’t notice the object coming either, and rushed in search of its traces on satellite images after the news spread. Open mind required ! Quoting: Tombfly 1577203 [link to www.slate.com] excellent question. what was the diameter of the thing? Have you seen meteor crater? [link to www.bing.com] That is dirt, Ice does not behave the same as dirt. It would break similar to a conchoidal fracture. Google "falling through ice", do you see any perfect holes in the ice? |

Quoting: Christobal 25509968 Yes, if you assume both were independent natural phenomenoms, then yes the odds are ridiculously astronomical, almost would have to be a brain dead science fanboy to accept the possibility. However, if you assume one was natural and the other intelligent, than no, no shock at all. I'll let you people figure which out which one is which and in which order! Might not be what you think ;) |
