The number of healthy people in Hawaii on disability is amazing!

I live in Kentucky. A state on that list. And I can tell you this much about how living here has changed in 20 years.

20 years ago family and a good work ethic as well as a strong community was the norm. There was a few on the "draw" back then and the community was all active to help these families pull out of this spiral and get ahead. Tobacco was going out of favor and the gov. paid people to stop growing, stop hiring their neighbors, stop everything. You get a check now. For nothing.

Today, if you are a working person like me and my family, you try to find a community to live in where everyone is working. Otherwise you will be riddled with crime, theft, and drugs. Pestilence is the only word for it. And even the drugs have changed. The big desirable drugs are the pharma heroin equidistant drugs. Gone are the days of the occasional pot head. You can't sell pot now. Nobody wants it. They will fail their drug test and stop getting the pharma heroin drugs if they fool with (harmless) pot.

I couldn't have planned this controlled destruction of community and family better if I was a Nazi mastermind.

Most everyone doesn't trust anyone else now. Community is devastated. There isn't any sense of it at all now. Even families are divided and don't trust each other now. Things are bad.

You take away peoples means of earning an honest living, and what do you expect to happen? In this case, people where forced to stop providing and even paid-off to keep it that way. It doesn't take a brilliant mind to put 2 and 2 together and see this was a planned attack to dismantle our communities and eventually the whole country. If not, then it is the biggest f up in the modern history of nation management. But I digress.

This is obviously of the best laid plans......

I live in Hawaii. A big part of this is because the Hawaii people had their land taken and money introduced.

As people from all over the world buy property it drives up housing prices over here. Land is expensive because they are islands.

I'm sure that there are a few out there, but I have never known a "single" mother, they all had live in boyfriends...when I was in that position, years ago, I couldn't get any help cuz I "owned" the house..the bank actually owned it..my ex showed up with fake paychecks saying that he made 100/wk, but lived in Beverly Hills, the courts ordered 30/wk for 2 kids, which he never paid..welfare said that we could move into the projects for a rent of 350/mo...my mortgage was 250/mo..that made sense...lol..I was a young kid with no skills, did the only thing I could do to put food on the table...stripping..a different animal in 78..worked with a lot of women in the same position and a lot of women who were putting themselves thru college...we scorned the welfare bitches who had kid after kid...and we knew alot of them..I still feel the same way..get a job..do what you have to do for your kids..in this day..there is no excuse to have a child that you can't provide for..just saying...

employees don't pay for their unemployment. their employer does that. so nothing is taken out of your check. that is why self-employed people have to buy unemployment insurance if they want to be covered if they lose their business. and it is very expensive.

I lived there for 5 years, and walked by camps of homeless *working* families. Getting a "job" there is not good enough to survive.
