Since you have the internet, search "Food Bank" in your county -- then swallow your pride and just go and they will give you enough food each week to feed yourself (and any family members.) You're not working, so you have time to do it. I had to use the food bank for a few months a few years ago. I am working again now.

The people at the food bank were really nice to me and the food kept me nourished so I had the energy go look for work.

I also tried Catholic Charities and they were really rude and they gave me some crackers and tuna and black tea and told me not to come back for a month. So, don't waste your time with Catholic Charities. Just go to the county food bank.

OK OP, here is a story you will like...I read it a while back...

There was the woman who was doing missionary work in Africa...she was basically living off the care packages her family was sending her.....One day she got REALLY sick...she felt terrible...that day she was expecting one of her care packages...it did not arrive...she knew she had only oatmeal to live off...she knew she would not starve...but, boy oh boy...those care packages often contained things like chocolate and canned chili and so many good things...she waited for the next day...still no care package...only her oatmeal...this went on for a month...finally...she felt better...and voila! The day after she felt better...her care package arrived...she was kind of down that it arrived on the day it did...she was going back to America in a few days...and the care package would not help that much....a few days later...she flew off to America to be with her mom and dad. A few days after she got home...her mom and dad threw her a party. She went to a party...and there was a doctor friend of the family there...she got to talking with the doctor...she told the doctor how she had been sick...He (the doctor) asked her for her symptoms...the doctor knew exactly what she had...and added that if she had eaten ANYTHING, but oatmeal...she would have DIED from the illness...we may think things stink sometimes...but, God has a purpose and a plan...and He loves us!

At least he has access to ways to make contact without having to put gas in a car..If he sells it how long would it carry someone for what u would get for a used computer..How do you know he isnt using a phone

Just made up a fresh batch and put some in his eyes, Berkey filter water and a brand new dropper. Little guy is making me break out my stash supplies. :) I guess that's the best answer. Should I refrigerate the silver water? how long does it last?

Op, often times people who will do great things in their life experience hard times. While everyone else in the world around them seem to be making it, they find themselves in a lowly position, in places where there is plenty. This is so you will not forget what it is like to need. There are those who need that cannot help themselves, one day God will show you who they are, and you will remember a little bit how it feels. You will help, and know how to do it in such away they will maintain their dignity.

I have a few stories like the one I'm going to tell, one day after many days of very little food in the house, the biscuits and peanut butter was all that was left, and the kids had it for breakfast. I knew there was going to be nothing for me to eat all day, so I decided to just call it a fast. I decided to go for a walk- there was 10 acres behind our house and so I walked the circumference of it. I had prayer that morning and then went for my walk. To my amazement I found wild asparagus on the ditch bank, I came home with all that I could hold in my hands. Asparagus is my most favorite food.

OP Pray, take walks, give thanks. God loves you and he is good.

more ripe tomatoes than I can eat,

and a solar water distiller that produces a gallon of pure distilled water per day for drinking and cooking.

I am not sad.

I am self sufficient.

Excellent story - and too true...God makes those He is going to raise...go through tough times....exactly like you said...so that they will not forget the "little" guy!
