My guess as to why India is set to overtake China as the world's most populated country somewhere between 2030 and 2040 is because of China's draconian uber-evil "one child policy". That plus the Green Revolution (look it up).

The virus went missing from Univ of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, the professor is from University of Texas - Austin.

The University of Texas is much more a "system" than a school, the system has campuses all over Texas, including the University of Texas El Paso (where the bomb threat was, which is about 400 miles from the Galveston branch), the main campus in Austin and medical school campuses in San Antonio, DFW and Galveston. In other words, there is almost no relationship in terms of "same school" more like just "same state".

That doesn't mean that the virus disappearing is not a huge huge deal, maybe it would be better if there WAS an obvious suspect. The Dept of Homeland Security (who investigated our favorite professor b/c of possible incite to eco-terrorism) would at least have a few leads, as it is. . .
