Sharing GLP's dislike of CNN, they did post The Picture Of Hurricane Flo. Robert Simmons didn't evacuate because his elderly refused to budge.

Finally he made the sad choice to leave his father behind, walking 1/2 mile in waist-deep water to the rescue boat.

Perched tightly on his shoulder is "Survivor" a tabby kitten, with the same haunted look as his very kind owner.

STORM DEATHS

Officials confirmed at least four deaths in North Carolina: A mother and infant killed in Wilmington when a tree fell on their house. In Lenoir County, a 78-year-old man was electrocuted while plugging in a generator in the rain, and a 77-year-old man died after being blown to the ground while checking on his hunting dogs.

I think the Gulf Stream is providing a lot of energy to that feeder band in the NW quad. The convection just keeps blooming out there and heading in. First it was Moorhead City, then Jackonsville and if Flo doesn;t get moving Wilmington is going to get another going over. And the watersheds are all aligned up to receive max water from the bands.

Meanwhile, in the tropics, Tropical Storm Isaac has weakened and seems to be dying away in the Caribbean waters, therefore is no longer thought to pose a threat to the US.

There is a band of showers and activity coming together off the coast of Africa, but no significant development is expected(if at all) until just before it enters the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the month.

Unfortunately, the death toll is up to 7 from Florence
Looks like the heaviest rains are still affecting North Carolina however they have shifted south a little bit

This just horrible for all the people.Thanks for the updates Luis.
