Easy to say when 6.5 Creedmoor rounds are flying through your windshield along with whatever other shit they are equipped with. I have a feeling they are only weaponized to get close enough to give target locations to the drones. Who needs "nukes and f-15s" when you can send a dog robot with a high powered rifle on top to tell your predator drones where to send the patriot missiles. We are funding our oppressors. Paying taxes is a form of Stockholm syndrome at this point.

Much closer comparison than Terminator.

The next step is bipedal robots in police officer uniforms.

We can build those today.

Welcome to the real-life movie version of "THX 1138".

hey freeguy

Ropes of kevlar...

In every hollowwood movie ropes are ignored as weapon

use ropes ... when demostrating..
use ropes .... against this cluncky crap.
use more ropes to get your freedom.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79439271

Dude.... No.

If you think you're going to rope these things you're very mistaken!

For one, in order to rope one of these you have to get within 1200 yards of it which is not a good idea since it's packing a 6.5 creedmore scoped rifle which can kill a man very dead from 12 football fields away.

For two, they've spent the last two decades making these robots able to be literally surrounded by humans all kicking them as hard as they can and the robot not only stays upright but keeps moving towards it's destination with zero problems whatsoever!

I'm not saying that these things are unstoppable because you can definitely stop them.

What I'm instead saying is that if you think you can do that by getting your anti robot strategies from loonie tunes, you're an idiot.

It is really pretty easy to build an EMP "gun".

There are even how-to vids up on youtube.

You can scale them up to any size, should the cyborgs get unleashed.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80713537

And an "EMP gun" Is even stupider than trying to stop these things with ropes like the other guy wants to do.

For a variety of reasons you are not going to stop them with an EMP ANYTHING that's easy to build.

Like... That's just flat not how EMP or military grade electronics/mechatronics work.

This is flat in the wrong class of devices to even try using EMP on in the first place.

EMP won't work on this for the same reasons it won't actually work on modern cars and trucks with the added caveat that EMP will work even LESS WELL on this than it does on modern and semi modern cars and trucks.

Now I might be fool. But surely one of these things would be useless ona battlefield as when dealing with state sponsored adversaries who had access to emp, it would make their application limited... To non state sponsored targets... You and me, they use our wealth to create monsters to control us and kill us.

If you don’t know electronics just say that… lol

They are super fucking simple to make…

So are nets, and traps for robots…

You think this is gonna be difficult, it’s gonna be fun!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78008350

Nets and traps for robots?

So in other words you have no fucking idea what you're talking about...

The robo dogs that are one or two sizes smaller than this one can't even be knocked over or slowed down from getting where it's going by an entire crowd of adult males kicking it trying to get in it's way etc.

These little fuckers also have extremely good motion control and pathing capabilities combined with sensors that will make it avoid the traps with ease that it can't just power it's way through anyway.

Also the irony of you telling someone they must not know electronics at all when talking about how easy it is to make EMP devices (which are going to be pretty much entirely worthless against these thingS anyway) is just too much for me.

So what genuinely scares me way more than the killer robots is the number of people responding to this thread who are entirely arrogant and self assured about their ability to "handle these robots" through any number of idiotic "strategies" that just flat wouldn't have worked against the big dog robots from a decade ago much less these fuckers.

The blind confidence of idiots all over this thread genuinely makes me worry for the future.

Look, I'm not saying they aren't terrifying, they are. But do you really think that a load of these against a battalion of Chinese is going to be insurmountable? There is technology that states have concealed from the public within every state. Those things aren't designed with combat zones in mind. Park ten of them on every corner block and who needs people to to control other people?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79393436

That is a turreted weapon. Worse than that, there's probably a 50 round drum magazine under the cowling and there's a pretty high end suppressor on the muzzle to obfuscate shot directionality and hide muzzle flash more than well enough to make it hard to know where it's shooting at you from if it's 120 yards away much less the more than 1200 yards it's capable of engaging a man sized target to.

You shouldn't fancy your chances against this very well at all to be bluntly honest.

A Machine like this would be an actively difficult target for even a tier 1 Western special ops squad or platoon to say nothing of western first world civilians.

While it's definitely not impossible to fight these things, they are not a threat to be taken lightly especially if you understand that our current governments genuinely are evil and crazy enough to use these things against us.

Really that's what's scarier than the robot dogs themselves.

Nobody in this thread doubts for even a second that our governments would actually use these against us...

As someone with a decent technical understanding of what these things will be capable of, all I can really say to that is we should definitely do our best to force the current regime's out of power before they can turn horses of these loose on us.

The fear of these things is a bit absurd. They could kill you just as easily today if they wanted to, with a drone strike, dews, poisons, etc. You are at their mercy no matter what method of execution they choose to deploy.

How many of these things do you think they really have? Enough to patrol an entire city? Because even that would cost in the high billions, probably.

yeah I bet its sheided from stuff like that anyhow. I've seen the video of the one running through the dudes trying to kick it and hit it off course... Like you said, that thing ain't just gonna fall over, even when it does down, it's right back up in a second. Same with nets etc... It'll shred them easily. Hit it with a truck? Yeah that'll work assuming you can and it doesn't just jump over it or something. But 20 of these blocking a street? The truck driver is getting killed.

The most terrifying thing about these things is they will have an army of them. To disable just one will involve such risk to life that most will comply out of having no choice.

If you read the last Book in the Bible,
you know that Satan is going to get total
control of the WHOLE WORLD.
There WILL be a GLOBAL GOVERNMENT,
and the people who resist will DIE.

The Lord will even allow him to conquer
God's own people:

REVELATION 13
7 And it was given unto him to make war
with the saints, and to overcome them:

and power was given him over all kindreds,
and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth
