It takes YEARS to achieve 32-degree, so he didn't join recently "to see what it was about," and it costs WAY more than $200 year at that level... Yes, it does, many, many, many, many dedicated years to reach a 32nd degree, So that puzzles me, how long hes been in? OP? |

Quoting: galactronunit9 1022695There MUST be two opposing forces which creates the friction necessary to foster evolution. The key is balance between the two. You will find that balance is a VERY important theme in masonic literature and it relates to this very concept. Jungian psychology which is pretty much alchemy with new labels does a good job of describing how this process works within the human soul I think. A+++ Very good. I would highly recommend Jung and the study of Alchemy. I like the writings of Joseph Campbell too. TAROT REVELATIONS is my favorite book and talks about the evolution of man with Jungian psychology. Thanks for your post (when Im feeling up to par ( I have a head cold) Ill read the rest of your comments) With Faith , Hope and Charity, God Bless.... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1146406closed club = easy to oppress non members closed club = same as any other secret organization It's really no different than a fraternity at a college, minus the drinking and so on. I'd beg to differ anyone thinks the local Theta Chi chapter has stuff to hide other than the obvious private ceremonies. That's assuming that the club would want to oppress people. The local Moose club I belong to is closed, has nothing to hide, and does not with to oppress anyone. Secret organizations do not openly share that they exist... what would be secret about that? Our lodges are easily spotted and we are definitely no secret organization. You can look up the lodge number in the phone book. |

If you yourself believe in a higher power how can we believe that the masons are in the best intrest for the population. Athiest believe in scientific proof, why not let the religious, "Age Of Stupid" forfeit there reign on the peoples mind, and allow scientific reality take the "reigns" and guide everyone into the future instead of living blindly in the past. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1317080 United States 03/31/2011 02:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No game playing here. I am building the mass intention website as promised and for the reasons I stated. Quoting: galactronunit9 1022695The fact that I am a Freemason should have no bearing on that whatsoever. It is only the misconception in your mind about what you think it means for someone to be a Freemason. The 33rd degree is an honorary rite usually given to those who spend a lot of time at the lodge and participate. I most likely will never make 33rd degree as I am a lone wolf by nature and do not attend lodge very often, maybe once or twice a year, just so I don't feel too much like a "paper mason". The truth of the matter is that I joined Freemasonry to find out once and for all what is was about after having read so many different theories about it. What I found was nothing nefarious in the least bit. Contrast this to the time I was asked to join a local Chapter of the Golden Dawn and I bugged out in mid ritual while I was in the antechamber waiting to get initiated - I suddenly felt a very real sense that linking into this group was a VERY bad idea, so I walked out without saying a word to anyone. At any rate. The modern Masonic lodge is unfortunately nothing more than a social guild. It is based however on the traditional western lodge magickal society. They do practice magick in the lodge. The funny thing is that 98% of the guys doing it do not know that is what they are doing. They are simply going through the motions without understanding the significance of the symbols and energies behind those symbols being worked. I was very disappointed to find this out hence my reluctance to spend much time up at the lodge. I have learned more about magickal practice on my own than I ever have from Freemasonry. Anonymous Coward User ID: 16165979 Australia 08/09/2012 08:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The path and reason why man exists should be simple and is simple. We are children of Adam and we have a purpose just as Adam did to please the creator of the Universe "Allah". Allah sent many revelations onto Earth Via humans known as Prophets. Yes angels fascilitated this message. The last message was revealed to an Arabian prophet who was unlettered. The book he left for us is Quran. The Quran is a guide on how to live on Earth. Its not Rocket Science. I would rather follow revelation than man made laws. Hope this helps Sallam |
Nyima User ID: 23053197 United States 09/02/2012 03:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good man. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 769850But the why the need to PAY MONEY to advance? Why the hoarding of knowledge? Why the BOYS club? It's shit. Paying money is a part of most any large enterprise. Bills have to be paid by some means. The amounts are not that outrageous. Something like $200 a year? There is no hoarding of knowledge. Most of the knowledge is public information these days anyway. It is the use of that knowledge that is where the meat is. Most anyone can join a lodge. The requirements are not that stringent. I was surprised when I got in as a 20 something year old fuck-up. The secrecy component is not so much about keeping things hidden it is more about charging the knowledge contained within the structure of the secrecy. I now Have a hard time believing what you say, and all should remain skeptical, as so much is out of line with Masonry, it seems more like you played Assasins Creed, read a wiki article and researched the use of the symbols, though incorrectly. Btw, dues are always under 100 per year. My lodge dues are 35 for the year. |

You two sound like you are from England with that attitude. The only secretes we have are the modes of recognition. The rest isnt imperative. You are charged only to live, work, and act as a better man, and to be honest you are for the most part only charged to keep modes of recognition a secret. |

Remember the scene when Neo meets the Oracle in The Matrix? That's what it's like. The experience is yours alone. It shouldn't be shared with anyone else. Same could be said of Military Boot Camp. It's your personal experience for self improvement. Others will never understand it. And it shouldn't be shared... Why... Because it would sound so silly. There is nothing wrong with self improvement. I just wish Freemasonry WAS more politically active and NOT so damn boring after one reaches one step from the top. But it is what it is. Imagine I'm submitting an evaluation for Freemasonry with 5 being STRONGLY ENJOY and 1 being TOTALLY SUCKS. I would truthfully have to chose between 2 & 3. Comment would be "BORING." Give me one politician to influence and I might choose 4. Naww. Any politician would laugh at a Freemason trying to influence them today. Last Edited by USCG Popeye on 09/02/2012 03:44 PM |
