In a previous post I said that even a little too much of it would make you ill. That's what I do know. What I don't is whether borax is good for arthritis or not. Why my posts come up hidden is possibly due to the fact that I was banned a while ago for typing a certain word which is forbidden on this site (Google it!). I subsequently donated but now that donation period has expired which is possibly why they're hidden. Your guess is as good as mine. If no one has gotten ill from it, using the guide lines in the article, wouldn't that convince you? You should let the individual decide for themselves. Antibiotics are over-prescribed by about 70%. In some cases they can be life-savers, in others totally superfluous. I've refused to take them on more than one occasion, generally when they've been prescribed for me for a minor chest infection (and usually by a locum doctor). I don't know enough about aluminium in deodorants to make an informed opinion. They're certainly not recommended to be used by people with severely reduced kidney function and aluminium has been linked to Alzheimer's in a couple of studies although nothing concrete. If in doubt, don't use them. Fluoride however has been proven safe in numerous studies across the world and the alternative theories I've read have been little more than poorly researched conspiracies which tend not to stand up to serious scrutiny. |

And I am more and more convinced it is a very important rare mineral not only for plants but also for humans [link to extension.oregonstate.edu] Boron (B) Boron deficiency, which is relatively common in Oregon, causes tip dieback. Leaves close to aborted shoot tips develop a mottled chlorosis and cupped shape. Leaf and fruit buds fail to develop in severely deficient plants. Winter injury also may be greater on B-deficient plants. Use Table 7 as a guide to fertilization. If B is deficient, apply either Solubor (20% B) at 2 to 6 lb product/l00 gal water/a, or 10 to 20 lb/a borax (11% B). Table 7.—Blueberry leaf B sufficiency, late July to mid- August sampling. Leaf B (ppm) Status below 20 Deficient 21–30 Below normal 31–80 Normal 81–150 Above normal above 150 Excess Apply Solubor or an equivalent material as a foliar spray before bloom or after harvest and before leaf senescence. Apply borax in the fall or early spring prior to rain. Many blueberry growers in Oregon follow an annual B application program of 0.5 lb B/a. Monitor leaf B levels carefully. Excess B is toxic to plants. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19510487 United States 08/31/2012 03:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have done some research on borax, and this seams to be legit. I have a doctor that is open to alternative cures looking into it deeper. From the article, it sounds like a boron suppliment would work, except it doesn't have the antiviral or antifungal properties. If you are just trying to cure arthritis or osteoporosis, the boron should work just as well. I will be trying this. If I had known I would live this long, I would have taken better care of my body. Now arthritis is becoming a concern. Every injury from the last half century is coming back to haunt me. This could be exactly what I have been looking for. Quoting: Epic Beard Guy Start taking baking soda to get yourself alkaline. You are too acid and your body is leaching the calcium from your bones to try to get you more alkaline. Vegetables will help with alkalinity but most of us don't eat enough and are just under too much stress for them to keep us alkaline. Take 1/2 teaspoon in water in the morning and the evening. At least 30 minutes after or before eating. This should help with your arthritis so your bones can start repairing themselves. You can take this three times a day if you like for at least a week or so and then go down to twice a day. You can also buy urine test strips to test the alkalinity of your urine. It should be between a 7 and 8. Anyway, twice a day should be fine and works for most people. Re arthritis and sore joints, upon advice of my doctor, I cut out eating potatoes and gluten products -- no more sore joints. |
