getting clean off heroin....any suggestions or just friendly chat? cant sleep!!!

once you realize that heroin has become destructiveness force in your life which is more powerful then you, it becomes clear that you will need the help of a power greater than yourself.

I suggest praying for relief from the obsessive desire to continue in the insanity of addiction, and checking into a local rehab, and consider a 12 step program.

drink lots of water, eat if you can stomach it, and take it one minute, one hour, one day at a time. This too shall pass. I always found prayer to be the most powerful thing for me because drug addiction humbled me, it brought me to my knees, so it seemed only natural at that point.

Drink orange juice, and if you can find any, smoke black hash. Keep warm and all you can do really is ride it out. How long have you been using?

start going to the gym, great trade off and u can be a fitness junky instead. you'll get your "fix" from the pump u get after a good workout

cant smoke weed n thats the main reason im freaking out.... weed makes this easier... but i have a job drugtest coming soon.... green tea i will try though

If you are anything like me weed isn't a good idea. Weed will keep you trapped in the vicious cycle. There is no struggle in surrender, only in holding on.

It metabolizes in your body in the same fashion as alcohol and heroin. If you're truly that desperate, you will do it. I know someone will call BS. I speak from experience.

I got off of prescribed Klonopin after about 2 years after getting sober off alcohol and that was absolute hell in a handbasket. Legs involuntarily shaking, body shaking, horrible anxiety. Even called paramedics once because I thought the withdrawals would kill me.

OP, if you are serious long-time heroin user, I would strongly suggest being in contact with somebody who knows you are detoxing in case you need medical care. Of course, you don't want them to put you on anything, but sometimes the DTs can be deadly.

what i did was burn all my connects / snitch or make it so u cant go back then left town.. was tough but needede to be done .. took me 10 years to get right after anyways... gl

on pills for 4 years. H for the past 3 months... but off pills thank god...

Until then clean out the spice rack.

Thyme, onion powder, peppers, st. johns wort. (basically any healthy spice) put small amounts into a kleenex and parachute this health bomb daily.

Take a hot bath.

Many people find that Loperamide/Imodium helps with withdrawl symptoms.
Staying hydrated is important.
Weed can be tremendously helpful. So can L Carnitine

I have no clue what your going through but I wish you the very best.Just remember you are stronger than this and you can succeed.

If you have access, go to a sauna and try to accelerate the ridding of toxins from your body. Also, take some Milk Thistle or some other herb to help your liver. I garuntee it'll acclerate your withdrawal so you can feel normal again faster.

oh they fall off the wagon a lot of them, I think it takes more one try, it's up there with nicotine, very very very addictive, so I just wish you well. give up the junk but don't give up trying to get off it. People who knew you before the habit will be glad to have you back, it makes a zombie of folks.
