if you don't see a dentist on a regular basis, your mouth will smell like a swamp next to a sewer. you need to get the calculus scraped off every six months. calculus just builds up even if you floss and brush a 100x a day. i used to be a dental assistant and dreaded when people would come in after years of missing cleaning appt. the smell of calculus build up is horrible. most people that have it don't know they stink.
