Update: Dorner May Have Died In Fiery Blaze, Or Escaped CNN confirming Dorner dead in the cabin. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21571778 "Pumped gas into the cabin and the conflagration resulted". He's dead AGAIN? Every five pages on here, he's dead, then the next four pages say that he's not dead, media retracted, on and on. Does this man have more than nine lives? Tomorrow he shows up in Santa Barbara on the fishing pier. Maybe you should drink your milk and go beddy bye. |

Update: Dorner May Have Died In Fiery Blaze, Or Escaped ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34126320 If they're that scared, they really shouldn't be in law enforcement ...armed suspect or not their in the wrong line of work... I don't think it's fear. I'd say it's making the best tactical decision. Everyone can be Monday morning quarterbacks after it's all over. Just saying. You're entitled to your opinion. I have mine. I sure as hell hope they were at least terrified out of their minds(still inexcusable) when they shot the two woman one of them who was 71 years old, and the surfer. If they're that terrified that they don't bother to verify the identities of those they are shooting at or even check to see if they resemble the suspect they are looking for THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. If they're not terrified it's just open warfare on citizens to both send a message-don't shoot cops-and to retaliate. Oh, I was speaking of the current ongoing situation at the cabin. Didn't realize you were speaking on another incident. I was speaking about their behavior throughout this whole ordeal. Not sure if you're aware but all an officer has to do is say he was scared and he will be cleared of any wrongful doing in any shooting incident. Everything from shooting a 2 year old with a pacifier to a 71 year old granny who doesn't even remotely resemble the suspect. Many officers exploit this. From those that are so scared they shouldn't be officers to those brazenly just out there committing crimes of their own. I say if you're that scared find another line of work. |

Update: Dorner May Have Died In Fiery Blaze, Or Escaped It appears as if this FF took a turn they weren't expecting and decided to end it earlier than planned. They'd designed it to further rally us around the whole gun control debate, but apparently weren't expecting him to gain cult hero status as he was. When they realized it was backfiring, they decided to abruptly pull the plug and this little show is the result. Interesting how the timing of it all played out, with the 'story' breaking minutes before all the networks cut to the SOTU address, leaving most Americans with a passing image of a burning cabin and the thought, "well thats over now"... /Shakes head |

They cannot be allowed to run around behaving like this. |

He sure does seem calm sitting there in the car. With the door wide open. And none of the guys in front firing. It sounds like a firing range was recorded. It sounds like canned audio. And if it's supposed to be some expert marksman shooting at them, it isn't hitting a damn thing. Not richocheting of the cars or pavement. He would take time and aim and shoot. It's so "incredible" meaning not believeable as the reporter herself says. |

Update: Dorner May Have Died In Fiery Blaze, Or Escaped The gunshots they heard could have been from the fire (heating the bullets) and I still can't find anything saying that a body has been found, only that the earlier statement (of a body) was retracted... He led them right to the cabin (which makes no sense if you want to keep your hideout a secret, not to mention he let the hostages go...), killed one officer and wounded another. Then he hid inside? I said it in another thread and I'll say it here... False trail. He bought that scuba gear for a reason, and I heard there's a lake very close by to that cabin. |
