Why are there so many "failure-to-Launch Young Men" .. . .? . . .select the most likely reason . ..

I believe it's largely due the paradigm shift as to what constitutes proper parenting. We've let psychologists talk us out of doing our job. Coddle a child no matter what they do, put them on pills if there is a problem, and for God's sake don't you dare expect a damn thing from them. They should not be afraid of us and if anything goes wrong, it's somebody else's fault. Is it any wonder what kind of little monsters this kind of thinking has produced?

i am a failure to launch at age 28

i guess i don't see the point in launching: what is in it for me other than more bills?

i do have a job but only because i have to

no interest in moving out

no interest in marriage

absolutely no interest in having kids

barely even interested in sex (jerk off sometimes only once a week)

i currently play video games for less than 2 hours a week on average (i do watch a lot of movies and tv and listen to a ton of music)

i went several years without playing any video games while i tried to find employment (it took four years just to get a job that is barely related to my B.S. degree and that doesn't even require a degree)

Goverment slavery, I dont want to be part of that.

And it's not only one factor, it are more.

I just dont want to support a system that will break apart or is breaking.

See.... man boys, no desire to be capable, or able to take care of your mate, which we are supposed to have, No common sense or self reliance, totally happy with being non contributory to society or humanity. Lazy, apathetic, spoiled, complacent, and stupid.

I am fascinated that so many young people now actually have an option as to whether they want to "launch" or not.

Tyler Durden: Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. How about the fact that life is not only a popularity contest but it also is a police state.

Most young men have petty criminal records...

Things like shop lifting, drug charges and petty assults.

The state charges you 10,000.00 and two year "rehab" for a dui alone.

When you get hooked your done. "we just don't say it".

Drugs arent the problem. It is the charges that stem from them.

What is ironic is that I know many "meth" users that are working currently, that have no criminal backgrounds. However everyone that I do know with a criminal background is struggeling in life.

That to me says alot.

One Meth user I know is the budget manager for an entire city. "HE RUNS THE CITIES BUDGET". FML.

Other pill heads I know get jobs I applied for and am not qualified for due to my criminal background...

So in my opinoin, we charge criminals beyond their sentence and its almost impossible to have an enjoyable life when you are thrown into a drug rehabilitation program that you don't need. You are forced to pay fines you cant afford and then on top of it all you are restricted in gaining employment for jobs that will help you rehabilitate and get your life back together.

SO my opinion is that the real problem with failure to launch young men is either they cannot launch because society is holding them back, or they have no criminal record and they are just plain lazy...

i have an awesome girlfriend that i would marry and i have a pretty well paying job too but there isn't a ton of work so i'm laid off a lot

if you've ever seen the movie office space then you know its a problem of motivation.. we work our asses off just to live paycheck to paycheck and life pretty much sucks.. we can see how much life sucks and its hard to stay motivated when thats what we have to look forward to. yeah its sad but true

Let's say. you start working today for 40 years straight, you are 65 then, So you want to retire. Well exaclty on that moment, when you are about to retire they say we need your retirement fund, because we need to support the banks/bankstars.

there goes your money, allot of people these days have seen that happen.

And all the financial shit you go trough in those 40 years.

The human worker is just a number.

People who are in these situations, keep this system running, not because they want it. Because have mouths to feed, like there kids,

27 year old failure to launch. I have no interest in sustaining the unsustainable, a just in time delivery society powered by finite deposits of oil. Its running out. Shit, everything's running out: arable land, clean water, biological diversity, minerals, metals, etc. There's going to be a big reset, and a lot of people without practical survival skills will probably get dragged down with the Titanic. I'd rather spend my time and money preparing for the paradigm shift.

I'd probably launch if I met a girl who knew what a paradigm actually was and saw how unsustainable our society is. But all I've met so far is the LOL OMG types. Too bad. There's nothing sexier than a girl that can plow a field.
