Heads up - Severe Weather Texas! | |
Kristina User ID: 36544879 United States 04/07/2013 11:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For my fellow Alabama GLP'ers, here is what Birmingham NWS said in today's hazardous weather outlook for our chance at severe weather overnight Wednesday night into Thursday... Quoting: Kristina SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS ALL OF CENTRAL ALABAMA LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON. DAMAGING WINDS...HAIL...AND ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE. CONFIDENCE CONTINUES TO INCREASE WITH REGARDS TO THE TIMING OF THE SYSTEM...HOWEVER...PLEASE STAY TUNED TO THE FORECAST FOR CHANGES THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF THE WORK WEEK. And they already have a confidence level of 2 out of 5 for tornadoes for Wed/Thurs. I haven't lived in Alabama in 20 years, but I still follow James Spann's blog and follow him on Facebook. He is without a doubt the top meteorologist in the nation. You guys are really lucky to have him. Oh, believe me, I know we are! I have been watching him my whole life and have been lucky enough to meet him on a number of occasions. DOOM better not interrupt my Walking Dead!! |

Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37570036 Pacific NW here--Montana--don't know if this system will be staying intact by the time it gets further into the plains, but we had some hellacious winds and rains here early this evening and all day yesterday. Had my little chiwawa out for a quick walk and got caught out about 4 blocks from home. The winds were so strong I had to tuck little DollyDounut under my coat and HANG ON WITH TO A CHAIN LINK FENSE so we wouldn't be knocked down. It was major intense!! Then the same repeated high winds and rain/hail this evening. Sure don't know what's going on, but wish it would stop! Stay safe everyone! Watch your pets! Cheers! SK |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 29184782 United States 04/08/2013 02:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are welcome. Spring storms have arrived so people need to check their flashlights and supplies in anticipation of severe weather. It looks like much of the country is going to be in for a rocky weather ride this week. Stay safe everyone! Yea, we need the rain in the Houston area so much. It's time to break the drought for good, or at least for a while. Rice farmers need that rain and lots of it right about now. It reminded me that it's time for hurricane prep. We're getting a portable tv this year, no more blind radio reports while we're taking winds around the eye wall. Time for new Coleman led light too. Oil lamps and candle are nice to look at, but smelly and fumy. BTW, solar garden lights make excellent indoor lights when the power goes out. |
